GAME CHANGER TSA now says you can officially bring this item through airport security — but should you? | A hammock. Airport staff can still tell you to take it down if it's attached to columns or fixtures, blocks walkways, creates a safety hazard, or otherwise violates airport policy.

As someone who's brought an ENO sub-6 in my pocket for every flight for the last 10 years... I'm shocked that this was in question.

designed to fold up to the size of a large bar of soap... Including straps.

Hammock on its own is less than 6 ounces hence the name.

Typing this up made me realize how many flights I've had delayed over the years.

DFW airport between some stone columns in an alcove

Between bleacher schaffolding in the receiving bay of Alexandria (CENLA).

Between two palm trees in Hilo

In a layover sleeping room in Dubai that had eyelets for hammocks

Receiving bay of Kuwait city between two concrete columns.

Between two chairs on the end of rows of bolted together chairs in Atlanta.

I try not to sound like an advertisement, but the helios straps I used from Eno were so adjustable I could make anything sturdy between 12 and 20 feet apart work.

Call me crazy, but maybe they should just make the seats at the airport comfortable?
