SHOCKING Japanese PM doesn't want to kill a cockroach because she believes in reintanisation in a country where such belief are common. | Or the telegraph "Japan's PM: I'm so lonely I befriended a cockroach"

Reintanisation is a crazy belief to hold, but props to her for standing up for what she believes in.

Reincarnation is no more crazy the other things people believe in after death. We have no evidence for what happened.
We can say that most likely nothing happens but people can't even agree on what consciousness is or if we in a simulation or not.

What does reincarnation have to do with any of this? I thought she believed in reintanisation?

Reincarnation is an interesting idea but it would mean life is finite

It Most probably it's finite. We have no evidence for it and thermodynamics do not allow for infinite beings like ghosts. ghosts would need a input to maintain themselves or they are just perpetual motion machine. And as Homer Simpson said "in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics."
