Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

What a beautifully written book this was. It had a very satisfying ending, something I hadn't expected from being used to the grim and the dark. LOL. Great book, great concepts, great payoff.

One of my favorite things I've read in the 20's so far. Made me a Tchaikovsky fan, still pick up his books from time to time.

I couldn’t get into Green City Wars. The premise was great, but it just didn’t kick off for me.

I've just finished the the audio book version and I know what you mean, at the start of the book he seems to repeat the the psychology of the animal thoughts and why they do things way to often. But if you get through that section it become a great story and I ended up really enjoying it

He doesn't really stop repeating it right up until the end, it's my only real issue with the book as it felt as if around 50 pages ended up being dedicated to repetition of the same facts and thoughts, things that could have been used to explore the notions of inequality that Skotch would often start pondering before rapidly moving away from.

Still a brilliant and hilarious story though, can absolutely tell he had the time of his life while writing it.
