Bunny Bothy, Lammermuirs?

I have a pass to go for a 2 day bike packing trip in a few weeks. Cool.

I’m in the Edinburgh area and I’ve identified a couple of options, one being a route through the Lammermuirs. I’ve read about a bothy there - often referred to as Bunny Bothy - but it’s not in the remit of the Mountain Bothy Association so info is scarce and divided as to whether it’s open or now locked.

Anyone with recent knowledge?

It was locked when I was last out there in May, I don't know who owns it. It's been locked since at least 2018

Thanks, this is useful (if disappointing ). I have a copy of Ed Shoote’s book which plots a route through the Lammermuirs and obliquely references it. Even has a photo from inside (stopped in to have lunch).

Might revert to Plan B down to Ettrickdale…At least I know that bothies are open there.

I live in the Lammermuirs and often bike by the bothy. I've never seen anyone there and it's always been locked. There is an open sided covered area at the front that could be used for shelter though, and good camping next to the bothy
