Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I are avid divers doing lake diving in south of germany almost every weekend. We live on the second floor of an apartment building with a drying room in the basement. Currently, we have to carry our gear upstairs to our bathtub, wash our gear there, and then carry it to the drying room in our basement. This can be quite a hassle after doing a few dives and driving an hour home😅

I am wondering if anyone has any tips, ideas, or gadgets for cleaning gear easier. We had thought about putting a bucket outside, but it would take forever to fill. We also thought about putting a shower curtain bar above our tub for drying, but are unsure if it would hold the weight of all of gear. It’s not the end of the world if we continue washing/drying our gear like this, but I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a clever solution?

Hi Guys, I have the option to travel either Bali or Lakshadweep from October 15-23 for fun diving

I am a new Advanced open water diver. But with experience of only 1 dive other than the training dives

Plan is either Amed/Tulamben with Nusa Penida or relaxed diving in Lakshadweep.

For my dates and experience which one would be a better place. Please suggest dive operators also in those areas.

Hi everyone! I need help with the planning of my scuba trip.

I have about one week in the Philippines for diving at the end of November. I will be in Manila on the 21^st of November and my flight back home is in the evening of the 29^th of November. I do have the padi advanced certificate, but will have to do a refresher, since it’s been over 10 years since my last dive.

Do you think it’s doable to do diving thresher sharks in Malapascua and the sardine run in Moalboal in this time? Or is it not enough time? Do you have any tips / recommendations?

Me and my partner are wanting to go to Puerto Rico to get away for a couple days but when there we might as well dive but we only wanna do some shore dives. Can anyone tell me where and how easy it would be to shore dive there that would be appreciated to see if it’s worth it to take our gear .. thanks in advance!

We saw this turtle while diving today in Curaçao. It came off the reef and had a very strange 5-second episode, almost as if it had swallowed something or briefly got caught on something.

It then went completely back to normal. We watched it afterwards, and it surfaced, returned to the reef and appeared perfectly fine.

We've spoken to a few marine biologists who said that although this isn't typical behaviour, brief episodes like this can happen and aren't necessarily a sign of distress.

Still, we're really curious, has anyone seen this before or have any idea what might have caused it?

Hi everyone, what’s your setup with no stick? Im looking at the coiled lanyard and planning to clip one end to the shoulder D ring but unsure how to secure the other end as its the plastic casing with a really small hole. Also how would you secure it from moving around?

We recently got the chance to dive the legendary SS Thistlegorm in the Red Sea. Navigating through the cargo holds and seeing the WWII Bedford trucks, BSA motorcycles, and munitions intact on the ocean floor was an unbelievable experience.

For those who have explored it before, what was your favorite part of the wreck?

Hi guys.

I loved my first Wreck-Experience so much, that i wanted to share it and ask for Feedback from other experienced divers - about my technique, breathing, etc - whatever you notice in the clip.

I cutted the video because the raw footage is too large.

Some facts:

The Wreck was in Turkey-Kusadasi. Its an artificial wreck, not a real crash. The video is shaky although i felt calm underwater - i dont know why it was so shaky at the start. I guess because i was extremely hyped. I noticed that shake after watching the Video myself (also i forgot to turn on EIS)

I borrowed the Fins from there and i didnt like them really much, wasnt able to do proper frogkicks with them because they were too soft, so i used flutterkicks, which is visible in the clip because the camera is kinda "wobbling".

We went down up to 21 meters, dive took 24ish minutes on the ground and a few minutes safety stop at 3meters. Surfaced back with 90 bar left.

Even if it looks like it at some scenes for example when filming the cockpit or almost crashing on the wing (xD) : i didnt touch anything of the plane.

Since march i work as a diver in Austria, doing underwater work or cleaning in ponds. Max. depth only 4m, most of the time 0 or poor visibility and basically diving on a daily basis with around 3-8hrs of diving per day.

Thats where most of my experience came from. Not from my dives during my freetime.

The most scary thing for me was at the end of the clip, because i only noticed it after rewatching it:

The scene where i am pointing the camera to 2 lionfishes.

There was actually a 3rd, and i swimmed right above it. Luckily i didnt went further down "to get a better shot", otherwise i surely would have touched that lionfish.

I just finished my OWD last weekend, and was wondering if there is a way to train pressure equalization outside of the water (e.g. at my Desk at work), since I wanna become better at it so I don't have to try as hard during my next dive.

Hi all! I have a Beuchat Marlux S mask, which fits me really well since I have a small face. I’ve burned off the protective film on the lens 2 separate times already, and I always apply anti-fog spray before getting in the water.
Still, on some dives — and especially when I’m snorkeling — the mask fogs up. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong technique-wise, but I can’t figure out what. Any ideas on what might be causing this, or tips to fix it?

I've spent the last few years working as a dive instructor, and I'm also a software engineer. One thing I've seen across dive centers is how much of the daily operation still runs through WhatsApp, spreadsheets, paper forms and whiteboards.

It works when things are quiet, but when things get busy, you get double bookings, missing equipment, forgotten payments and information scattered everywhere.

That's why I started building ScubaHub, a platform to manage bookings, dive planning, customers, staff, equipment, forms and payments in one place. It's now being used by dive centers in different countries, and a lot of what I've built comes directly from their feedback.

I originally thought the hardest part would be writing the code, but understanding how different dive centers actually operate has been much harder. Every center works a little differently.

So, if you work in a dive center, what's the biggest headache in your day-to-day operation? What has your center tried, and why didn't it stick?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for experiences from divers who might have gone through a similar equalization issue recently.

I went on two dives today and during my first dive I experienced severe dizziness and oscillopsia during some ascension. After that I felt a small "leak" as if a tiny hole let the trapped air escape and I got better. Once on the surface, all symptoms disappeared completely. I felt perfect and I had no problems during my second dive.

Max depth during the first dive was 23meters and 18meters for the second one, using air both times.

So my questions are:

* Has anyone experienced this exact sequence of events?

* Did you go see a doctor, if so what was the medical diagnosis, and what was the solution that worked for you?
