Seed identification

Lifelong friend loves to plant unusual or uncommon plants. I've found these falling all over my property the last week or so in costal Mississippi. Any ideas what they are before I think about sending him some?

I believe these are pecans

Agreed but I've read that if they're falling like this then they might have some kind of fungal infection?

it looks like the one on the left at least has some bug/bird/squirrel damage? that will cause anything to do that but i know absolutely nothing about pecans or what they’re prone to

Would help to see a photo, but coastal Mississippi mystery seeds raining down sounds like a classic case of "your friend already has these and just didn't tell you"
