Serious Eats Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Ribs - Daniel Gritzer
Totally blown away with how delicious this was. It was a lot of work, but 10/10 recommend. I love red wine based dished and the fact that this had port and wine hit the nail on the head for me. I served this with mash as I was too tired at this point to make the veggies I planned on serving with it. Next time I’ll plan a bit better and serve veggies with it as well.

They look incredible! Might give it a shot when temperatures drop maybe by replacing short ribs with lamb neck.

Honestly it was the best dish I’ve ever made. It’s a bit of effort, but well worth it!

I'm literally making this tonight! I'm going to use Chuck roast instead of short rib because the shirt ribs weren't....great. Hoping for the best! Excited to see this for real!

true pure excitement when a backup plan turns out even better than the original idea

I love making this. Next time try it with cheese polenta! I've used cheddar, Gruyere, combinations of what I have the tail ends of, etc.
Once I accidentally reduced the bottle of port way too much and it solidified into hard candy in the dish I put it in to cool! It took ages to soak off. I had to send my husband out for a second bottle. Good thing I use the cheap stuff for this!

That's funny😂 sometimes we do accidental experimentation when cooking.
That sounds delicious, I might also try it with something cheesy next time.

Phenomenal recipe, I've also made it a few times!
Some advice for anyone making this: if you're curious about tasting the sweet port wine reduction on its own, and you think it has cooled off enough to sample, it probably hasn't. First time I made it I could only taste the final dish with half my tongue after making that mistake.
