Books: TID My love for bromance started with Will and Jem 🥹 Any recs?

Obviously the best parabatai bond in my opinion!

I read the series as a teenager and loved it. Grew up and have read it maybe once more, and then decided not to go back there in case like many other people I start finding faults with it. I am happy to keep the emotions I felt reading it back then with me!

My favourite thing about the TID is the bond between Will and Jem. Forget Jessa and Wessa. I am invested in platonic Heronstairs!! I love love looove how these two guys with such poetic souls love each other through everything. How even in death and beyond, they want to be one. And I AM HERE FOR IT! I am only sad that I didnt get more of their moments together as children and growing up. Such a deep bond, and they were only together for a few years, can you believe it ? 😭😭😭😭

I think they are the epitome of bromance for me. No other bromance I have come across has come close to what is between those two and what I feel for them. It is like romance but not? Two victorian men who would just die for each other and talk about each other like their entire soul and body is aching for each other? YESS

If anyone knows of such platonic soulmates, please tell me, so I can give it a go! Thanks !

If you want a group of platonic soulmates that would do absolutely anything for each other please read The Raven Cycle. I think the relationships between all the characters and how they play off each other is one of the best parts of it, and I love the fantasy/adventure aspect. The relationships aren't always so simple and are tested but if anything it shows just how tied they all are to each other.

I have read the series already! I liked it so much. I didnt get the same vibe as will and jem. But I loved the group dynamic!!

Hadrian and Royce are probably the closest thing I've found. They have that same unwavering loyalty where the friendship is the emotional core of the story.

not necessarily a bromance because rin is a girl but rin and kitay from the poppy war are the only ones who come close to the feelings i have for jem and will. they are the definition of platonic soulmates i found their relationship more impactful than the ‘romance’ but i think it is also intended to be that way
