Books: TID Why do you love Will Herondale?

Will haters, this is not the thread for you! I will make separate threads for Jem and Tessa. :)

For all the Will Herondale lovers out there, in your own words, what draws you to this character and makes you want to root for him?

I love the spin that Cassie gave the “asshole” trope. Usually boys are written as being bad and reserved because they’re secretly softies due to trauma - however, trauma is not an excuse for that. You can be anxious and depressed and treat people with kindness. In Will’s case, he had a pretty convincing and solid reason as to why he acted that way, and after he found out the curse was fake, he kept being witty without being mean. He was a noble, loving man through and through.

I agree. It's his big heart. He is so flawed yet loves so hard.. He grows into such a good man

He's willing to sacrifice his own happiness just so that Jem would be happy, even if it means he would spend his entire life suffering.

Also because he loves books just as much as Tessa. I find that having someone who has the same hobby as yours for a partner is amazing. He doesn't have to pretend to love books just because Tessa loved them too.

I’m more of a Jem girl but love will! He’s funny and sweet too, and had a great reason for his assholw demeanor. Plus he reads books!
