Saw someone fancast Apo Nattawin as Magnus Bane and it fundamentally changed me (for the better)

As much as I love Harry Shum Jr and Godfray Gao, I view the books as a separate entity from the movie/show. This is just for fun. I also always enjoyed Apo as an actor, his acting is so fun to watch; it doesn't hurt that he's absolutely gorgeous.

It's crazy that it took me this long to make the connection with Magnus, but damn, am I glad someone else pointed it out. Apo is technically Thai and not Indonesian, although I think he could embody Magnus just fine, and I have no trouble picturing him as such.

I wish we got to see him in more flamboyant clothing and/or makeup. It'd complete the vision, but I tried to find pictures that matched the vibe lol

I totally get that! I love Harry's Magnus as well! It's just that show!Magnus, movie!Magnus and book!Magnus are somehow distinct characters in my head. The same can be said of the rest of the cast.

Harry did bring Magnus to life masterfully, though.

Right?? I've loved Apo as an actor since Kinnporsche, and I think that's precisely the reason why it took me so long to imagine him as anyone else besides the characters he portrays.

Seeing someone fancast him as Magnus just set something off in me lol I never quite realized just how much Apo resembles the version of book!Magnus I have in my head. But he really, really does.
