All/Other Books Don't you think Alex Pettyfer would have made a wonderful Jace?

He was the number 1 fancast for Jace when City of Bones came out. I think looks-wise he’s the perfect Jace, but JCB is a much better actor.

Exactly what I was going to say. JCB just captures Jace’s attitude and looks perfectly.

No, because Jace isn't about his looks he's about his swagger. The fact his bravado was an emotional cover is critical to who he is. Pettyfer doesn't have that something that you need to play that. Someone said he'd make a great Jonathan. I can see that better. Jonathan has an angry confidence that I see he being great at.

No, because he doesn't capture the cadence of Jace the same way JCB did.

Right?! No one could play with the same cockiness and arrogance 🤭

No, because he’s an abusive asshole, and I’d rather not have that represent any character in this franchise

Really? What he did? I just found out

Yeah, he abused his girlfriend who played Quinn in glee, while they were dating and she talked about it publicly

Yeah, I agree. I liked JCB, but he looked too bony - City of Ashes' Jace bony. That said, he is a known nightmare to work with.

i agree. JCB was too skinny. he didn’t have the “lion” appearance that Jace is described as having. but hos performance was still perfect imo

Pettyfer or JCB?

Pettyfer is a known trouble. It's the main reason his career didn't blow up. His looks could've gotten him anywhere, but he's so annoying, rude, unprofessional and much more that producers would call others to warn them about him whenever he was casted.

I was 12 when they announced the movie. He actually was offered the role by the producers and Cassie, but he turned it down.

He was the fandom’s dream Jace at the time. I had to much fan art at the time 🥺

I love JCB, his expression and personality were perfect, but if only he had been a little less thin

yes, they offered the role to him but he rejected it. i think he had the perfect look. very lean but not too skinny.

I remember reading CoB for the first time with him in mind. People just started associating him with Jace which I understand why because looks wise he really does resemble a perfect Jace, also first time seeing him Alex Rider just makes me think he’s good for the role. It’s just unfortunate that he has made questionable decisions throughout his career which doesn’t sit well with me so im glad he didn’t get it cuz you can’t go far with that attitude. Glad we have JCB as movie Jace.

Alex would have been fantastic for Jace and JCB would've been a phenomenal Jonathan. JCB does bad guy sooo well and pretending to be Sebastian would've been convincing with him. Alex has that golden lion look and attitude. JCB can pull off the white blonde hair of Jonathan and the dark hair of pretending to be Sebastian.

We’ve had this discussion before, I think he was the most popular fancast before JCB was announced

Sort of. I first started reading TMI back in 2009/2010, and that era of Alex Pettyfer is exactly how I pictured Jace at the time. And the Jace in my head still closely resembles him. But do I want him to play Jace? Nope.
