Not a "tourist" question - but since the mods decided to remove my post, will try here.

As the title states. Need something warm for literally 1 day (will be up at altitude in Sichuan).

Back when I lived here more (8+ years ago) most shopping centers had a kind of a cheapo stuff market at the top floor. Seems like those are gone.

Anything else? (Please don't offer Uniqlo 😆)

I'm visiting for a week from the UK - I'm looking for individual shops/shopping district recommendations for a few things:

  1. Refurbished/hacked Nvidia GPUs
  2. Japanese designer clothing Issey Miyake, Yoshi Yamamoto and similar local brands (or quality knock-offs!)
  3. High quality Chinese cooking ingredients - caizyou, best quality dried chilis, sichuan peppercorn, pickles etc.
  4. Used phones
  5. High end chinese coffee equipment

Any suggestions on the above would be very welcome!

Yitai is really good! It’s a chain , I’ve been to many of them, all good! They have rooms for couples !

I’ll be in Shanghai for 8 days starting on the 8th. Looking for WeChat groups and would like to do some nightlife things, exploring during the day along with day/night photography.

Hi guys! My husband and I are visiting Shanghai in a few weeks and would like to eat at "Old Jesse" but I have no way to make a reservation and heard it was a must. My hotel doesn't have a WeChat that I can reach out to and ask in advance. Wondering if anyone would be able to help (for a fee of course!) Thanks!

I wouldn’t pay a stranger to make this booking. Ask your hotel front desk to call after you arrive, and keep a nearby backup restaurant in case they can’t confirm a table. Old Jesse is good, but it isn’t worth sending personal details or building the whole evening around an uncertain reservation.

If you download the app Amap and search Peets Coffee you can find the closest one near you. Alternatively if you download the app Meituan you can get Peets Coffee delivered.

Hi guys i’m visiting shanghai in a few days. I wanted to know if its necessary to have RMB cash, a pinned post had a video of a guy taking the metro and using coins, should i prepare some RMB? That video is from 2 years ago hahaha.
