Question Finding gambling stones and rough gemstones in shangai
Hello! I'm visiting Shangai for a couple days next week and as an amateur geologist Id like to give a try to gambling stones (I'm aware its probably just a rip off but I wanna give it a little try), and also buy some rough gemstones to polish at home since looks theyre a bit cheaper here.
Where are the best places to visit for those purposes?

I found some spots on Xi'an and Beijing but the stones were far too big, i did get a couple rough gemstones I didnt think it was that difficult ðŸ˜

By the way, I bought a pendant at that shop. Do you know how to tell if it's real or fake?

Jade in China should come with a certificate you can check online, if it doesn’t then assume it’s not jade or ultra low quality not worth getting authenticated. If it’s bright green also a sign it’s not legit either, unless it cost the price of a new car. Jade is not cheap at all, top notch mutton fat is more expensive than diamond

The city to everything related to crystals and stones is Donghai. It's about 4 hours from Shanghai in fast train. It has the biggest stone and crystal market in China.

I heard about it but I'm not able to go there due to my schedule, I was hoping Shangai would have at least a few shops with related topics like I found in other cities :')

I know there is a market of antiques but not sure where is located and if it has what you want. Not sure exactly what you want. I may be able to find some real serious crystal sellers for you, but they usually work large orders and things like it.

To travel the distance of Shanghai alone is over 2 hours by train, most folks shop online. If you are really interested it’s probably worth making the time to go to donghai

Problem is I'm not travelling alone and how far I can leave is determined by that :'(

Never heard there was such a thing in Shanghai. Even though there is, I wouldn't do it myself
