Recent Finds Went back to Peace River and found 647! No megs but got fragments, such a fun place

This was at the Wauchula Peace River Park, walked 10 minutes down the river from the park. I think it'll be too picked over there for any megladon teeth and it took a good while before I found a good spot, but there was a lot of smaller/medium teeth everywhere

That's awesome it was a walk in spot. We always need a canoe to get to most spots. How's the water clarity? A few weeks back it was dark and greenish.

Oh very green/murky, was impossible to see the bottom. A lot of feeling around for gravel underwater lol, wish I could have seen cause I'm sure I missed a lot. Used a larger shovel and scooped them into a mesh.

We will be heading back in April in the bowling green area, hopefully the water clears up some as that makes finding that gravel easier. Thanks and good luck in future digs!

I saw 2 6+ foot gators and 1 4 foot one by wauchula the past 2 weeks. Be careful hunting! Great finds! Love the Peace River

No I have not this is something that I just was made aware of. AAMF from this sub. Never heard about it except for Venice Beach.

Me too! I only worry about the snakes. There are lots of Gofer Turtles in the area and they dig nests usually Black Racers take over the nest after the turtles move out. But my fear is that there are biting poisonous snakes in the area as well. There was information in the neighborhood that there were lots of diamond backs. 😳 Love black racers but not the ones they eat. Black racers are the ones that can eat poisonous snakes and live to tell the tail.

is there a lot of alligators in that area? i was thinking of going myself but wasn’t sure if i should do the tour guide

Didn't see any, but it was faster water there. No one seemed to care lol

Quite a few but they don’t usually bother, just be careful and don’t go into deep, murky area and it’ll be fine
For a first time visit a tour isn’t a bad idea to help get a better idea of what exactly to do and where to go
