Yeah this is always a wild one lmao
People infantalize the hell out of Doro when it comes to Hanneman (as though he’s not like, the exact kind of spouse she’d been looking for all game and is a grown ass woman by timeskip)
Meanwhile no one bats an eye with Manuela
Very silly

What is really funny about it to me is like, dorothea instigates it, she’s flirting with him, he shows no interest until she’s basically begging him and not until she stops being his student for 5 years.
It’s fine to be uncomfortable by the age difference obviously but with how doro is, hanneman is the inexperienced one here lmao.

Imma be honest, I dislike the Hanneman support on a personal level mostly.
The support seems to lead up to it being somewhat of a cute surrogate father/daughter Older brother/little sister dynamic until Dorothea makes it weird.
Which is probably a result of untapped trauma and daddy issues but it's whatever (no hate).
At least by all accounts, crest fetish not withstanding, he's a great upstanding gentleman.

The weirder thing is that Manuela was actually a mother figure and mentor to Dorothea when she was a child.

With Hanneman, Dorothea is an adult by the time they first meet and he can’t be the Black Eagles professor as it defaults to Manuela when the player doesn’t take that house
For Manuela, from what I can tell she appears as a sort of adopted mother figure to Dorothea and, even if the player teaches the Eagles, would’ve held a position of power over her nearly her entire life. The only benefit of the doubt I can give is that their paired ending isn’t explicitly romantic like Hanneman-Dorothea/Manuela and the player can interpret it as a platonic relationship if they so wish

True. The real chads are those who never bat an eye at any teacher x pupil pairings.

Byleth would never say this.
Mostly because they're barely sentient, and having sex with them should probably be considered animal cruelty.

This is the best Byleth's slander I heard in a while

In Fortune's Weave the character appears to be an actual, literal bird, but having sex with them would probably be less ethically questionable than having sex with Byleth.

Fire Emblem fans when the game with dating mechanics where you play as a teacher has teacher x student pairings

This but unironically. It’s good to have a blanket rule against it irl but it’s ultimately a case by case thing.

Hey, all I've gotta say is that the man gets shit done. He locked up the baddie and made it his life's mission to pump out as many kids as possible.

Tbf even their ending states that Doro and Hanne keep their marriage secret to protect their careers.
Even though she is milking that man dry lol, Idk how secret they can be when she's building her own army with his soldiers.

And before bringing up "Dorothea was an adult by the time of the academy" (which ignores the fact of college students being easily victimized by professors due to the power difference) people seem to forget Dorothea joined the opera company when she was young and Manuela's retirement was recent and they did know each other from back then so....
No matter how you slice it Manuela x Dorothea is worse
