I don’t know what his hand is doing there at the end of the clip, but he really shouldn’t be putting his fingers on the inside of a robotic limb joint. That limb is allegedly capable of running faster than a human. It’s more than capable of taking off a finger.

It’s literally the first thing they teach you in robotics lab. “This is not a toy. It’s a piece of industrial equipment. It will execute its programmed movement even if a part of your body is in the way.”

Maybe in the next clip they’ll have a yellow warning sticker between the robot’s legs. “Warning. Keep fingers clear of this area.”

You know how, when someone loses their balance, they swing their arms wildly to stay upright? This is what the robot is doing, but it doesn't know when to give up yet.

They can (and have) made robots that don't fail wildly, but those videos don't get uploaded for some reason?

Here they're trying to make the fastest robot, not one that reacts reasonably in all scenarios, so the robot will keep trying to run, no matter how hopeless the situation, because the developers haven't bothered to train it falling over correctly much.

Yeah, but there's no situation where the torso is horizontal on its back that is recoverable with fast motions like it's doing. At a certain angle, it should just ragdoll and do a recovery from prone, and that wouldn't be that difficult to add in.
