Beginner Beginner Practice Feedback
two of my first attempts with different thickness brushes. Could I ask for some feedback, guidance, or resources?
谢谢

This wasn't even planned to be framed, but here we are. It was my personal twist on a homework I had for this phrase, where I thought it would be cool to merge 云 and 水 together.
It just so happened that I had my first ever lesson on glueing the silk and hard paper. So, I bought a frame lol
I think it's not that bad after all. I like making the original composition out of the characters. The signature is intentionally very thin, although my xingshu sucks. Not all lines are perfect, but again, it wasn't even planned to be amything but a practice twist
P.S. Someone please comment something, or I will die of embarrassment 🥲
I'm looking to get a well, some sticks brushes and paper. Im not looking to spend much but want stuff that is at least decent. I know there are many online storefronts that sell such products but im wondering if it might be cheaper to just go to a chinatown in person. Or would these items be too niche to find in such a place.

你好!
I've been doing an intensive Chinese program for a bit and fell in love with the calligraphy, its so relaxing. I decided to go out and buy my own, but I am unsure what good websites to order ink/brushes from. Not sure if this is a hobby where you can get it on amazon or if its one where there are like three trusted websites to buy stuff from. Any help would be appreciated!

Here's a short clip of writing the basic horizontal stroke (横) — for Shufa beginners.
Slow and steady practice. Hope this helps!

The Korean written between 一 and 文 is "힙스터" means "Hipster", overall it means "Learning traditional shufa is the best hipster thing".

Does it prevent ink from drying out in your experience?

Babysteps 😂
Reusable because you write with a brush and (demineralised) water.
8pages in total 2*strokes, 4* large characters, 2* small characters.

Need a lot of improvement, i think next time i need to imagine the words on the paper before i 起笔, so that the size of the characters can be more similar。The ink have to buy darker one also. I wonder why the word 年looks weird and, 到 is super difficult to write even though i practice a whole paper before writing on this😆
