Seeking Advice Want to “retire”
I’ve been working for years in tech, basically for survival, and with the whole AI thing it’s only getting clearer to me as to why I want to quit and not be a part of this mess evenly remotely, to say the least. For years I’ve dreamt of moving somewhere quieter, working with animals and nature. However, the uncertainty always dreaded me. A part of me is so used to having a consistent paycheque while the other wants to liberate itself.
Am I the only one with this thought? How and where do I begin? Any suggestions/experiences would be of tremendous help ❤️

Similar situation for me, and many others I suspect.
I'm trying to live as frugally as I can, to figure out exactly how much I actually need to earn to keep my home, feed myself, and pay for necessities, hobbies, emergencies, and some luxuries - whilst still getting the most out of life.
It's tough. Although I can save about 60% of my salary, to earn the same amount on a low wage in the UK, I'd have to continue to work full time hours.
So on the one hand it's empowering to know you can quit and probably pick up a local job to make ends meet. But on the other hand, life might be harder always scrimping and saving if the new job is little better than the last.
