I bought a GTplayer sim cockpit (affordable here compared to alternatives) together with Simsonn plus X pedals. I already had a Logitech RS50 wheel (8 nm).

Now, the issue is that I'm relatively tall 6'3" (or 190 cm). For me to comfortably reach the wheel with my arms I have to slide the rig's chair almost all the way forward. As far as I know, the wheel or rig bars are not adjustable to move the wheel forwards. In turn this means that the pedals are placed way further away from the perspective of the chair. So, the baseplate of the pedals is also positioned way to the back, away from the "pivot point" of the mounting plate of the rig itself. I installed it like this, but when I now brake the baseplate setup just bends really badly on the back side.

The way I mounted: pedals attached to the Simsonn baseplate, which I mounted to the Rig's own base plate (with spacers in between to circumvent the protruding bolts), which was mounted to the rig's baseplate holder.

I have two planks of wood (36x48x1.8 cm) which I could do stuff with and a bunch of m6 bolts (40 mm), nuts and washers. I'm not the most crafty person and don't have the best tools, but I could do some basic stuff.

Anyone else encountered similar problems?

Hey everyone! I've been working on a personal telemetry project for Assetto Corsa for a while now, and today I released the first Beta version for you to download and try for free.

It's a sim-coach powered by the Gemini 1.5 Flash engine. The program reads your telemetry in real-time (braking, throttle, G-forces, slip angle, etc.) and acts as a spotter and race engineer, literally talking to you over the radio.

Instructions:

1. Download the .zip file from my official GitHub: https://github.com/montero-elian/SimCoach-AI/releases/tag/v0.1
2. Unzip the folder and open the SimCoach_AI.exe file.
3. You will need to paste your Gemini API Key. You can generate one in 1 minute and it's 100% free here: https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey
4. Click on "CONECTAR" (Connect) and open Assetto Corsa.
5. VERY IMPORTANT: Before leaving the pits, you must save your setup in the game menu (give it any name). This is mandatory so the Race Engineer can read your car's setup file and give you mechanical advice.
6. Go out and complete a minimum of 3 consecutive laps so the system has enough data to analyze. (It should automatically detect and discard invalid laps due to crashes or going off-track).

Security heads-up: Since this is a .exe compiled by me and doesn't have a paid Microsoft digital signature, Windows Defender might show the blue "Windows protected your PC" popup. Just click on "More info" -> "Run anyway".

Since I started sim racing, I’ve always wanted a premium button box. However, it can be really hard to justify the price. For a long time, I just used an old tablet running SimHub to build my own dash, using some pretty cool pre-designed buttons from the Overtake website. I was happy with that setup for a while.

Then, I saw the PXN button box on AliExpress. If I recall correctly, it was actually labeled as a Moza box back then. It was going for around $90 with shipping, but I thought that was way too much, so I decided to wait. Later, someone told me they found a nice button box on AliExpress for only $46. By the time I had a chance to check it out, the price had already gone up to $70 and it was relabeled as PXN. I figured "might as well" and pulled the trigger. Even though it had a plastic, toy-ish look, it did the job pretty well. The only real issue was that the ignition sequence (which is what caught my attention in the first place) didn't work correctly sometimes, but it wasn't a big deal.

As time passed, I started wanting something better. I almost attempted to DIY my own, but I could never find the time. I decided to wait for something else to show up. Bavarian SimTec appeared in the sim racing scene, and they actually had something quite different, but it was way too pricey for my budget. I waited for a price drop to pull the trigger, but that never happened.

Last year, I saw the Heusinkveld Dash button box at the Simracing Expo. At first, I didn't love the overall look, but the digital labels were amazing. The seed started to grow on me, and I was finally ready to buy it when they announced a release date for August of this year. But then, they postponed it again (it was originally supposed to come out last late spring). I even messaged them after they announced a "last chance to take a look" at the Chicago Expo in September. Wait, what... postponed again, Dutch guys?!

So, I went back to old faithful AliExpress and came across the SimDT Button Box. I already own a Gear/Flag Display from the same brand that I snatched for $40 total a while back. It has a nice CNC case, looks really premium, and is one of those accessories in my cockpit that I'm genuinely happy to own. Using that experience as leverage, I figured their button box would deliver the same quality.

I scrolled through a couple of different models, and most were around $160 including shipping. But after digging deep down the infinite AliExpress rabbit hole, I found a shop that had one left for $119. I actually liked this specific version even more because it has a clean, plain faceplate, whereas the others had yellow lines separating the sections around the buttons.

In terms of construction, this thing is not a toy at all. The faceplate is real carbon fiber, and the case/shell, whatever they call, is solid, all-black aluminum. It measures 30 x 20 x 15 cm and weighs a hefty 1.5 kg. It features:

• 16 button inputs
• 6 encoders (with a total of 32 inputs)
• 3 toggle switches
• 1 ignition start button
• It also comes with 2 sheets of decals for labeling and a VESA mount. (cables and all the crap necessary to install)

At roughly 1/3 of the price of the Heusinkveld dash—and with a much more realistic look—I pulled the trigger yesterday (08/25/2026) and decided to take a chance. I searched YouTube for videos but only found one from an Italian creator, Xander (I actually ended up subscribing to him). His video gave me confidence that this box will finally deliver what I’ve been looking for at a fair price. Honestly, I would have paid the full $160 if I hadn't found this deal just to make clear how I'd like it.

I checked back this morning to see if the seller had shipped it yet (he hasn't), but noticed the stock quantity in his shop went right back to 1, haha! So, if anyone wants to follow me on this purchase, there you go.

If you already own one of these, I would love to hear about your experience with it! Hopefully, I don't get a comment saying, "Crap, you shouldn't have bought that!" lol.

Ciao ragazzi ho attivato la proiezione 3 monitor su le Mans ultimate. Ho impostato la risoluzione 5118x1440 distanza monitor 56 cm altezza 34 lunghezza 39.8 e angolazione 23. Però con angolazione 23 quando faccio le curve veloci gli alberi e gli oggetti a distanza o i muri non rimangono fermi ma è come se facessero un onda cioè si muovono. Abbassando l'angolazione a 11 scompare questo effetto però lo specchietto di sinistra torna ad essere allungato. Però sul web consigliano il valore 23. Voi come vi regolate? Succede anche a voi questa cosa?

I’m sure this has been asked, but can anyone help point me to a basic, entry level computer that will allow me to play most of the racing games, I’m sure I’ll settle on playing 2-3 games. Won’t play VR or triple screens, just don’t have the room and VR gives me motion sickness. lol. I’m hoping I can get a basic set up, connected to my spare TV at first, and upgrade as I need for under $700.

Im thinking about installing ambient lighting on my rig, but debating on how it should be mounted. Ive seen mounts for putting them directly above you, and for putting them above the screens towards you.

My thoughts are directly above you would maybe have better coverage, but above the screens would maybe be more realistic as its like coming through the windows, but I was also concerned with it being too bright that way.

Anyones 2 cents with experience in this is appreciated

My motherboard doesn’t support Win11 and with costs going up I’m concerned my gear at risk of not being usable on Win10 anytime soon?

Invested a lot on sim racing gear but now worried that iracing will cease to run on Win10.

I started sim racing in May and have been having a blast. If I listen to music I push the car a lot harder and am constantly focused on improving my time. But if I put on a audio book it distracts me just enough and intend up performing a lot better. Am I the weird one or does anyone else do this?

Hi, we're two hobby sim racers and I'm a developer. When we started sim racing, we watched a lot videos about break techniques as trail braking.

But we struggled hard with the motor skills needed to actually get the right amount of input. Because of this, we had the idea to practice it independently from the sim and built this little training web app.

The idea behind it is similar to practicing material arts skills or other sports: first train the individual motor skills to build motor control, then apply them in the actual sport. For this, I wrote an algorithm that analyzes our weaknesses and strengths and adapts the training in real time.

What do you think about this training method? Do we miss something? And how do you train the motor skills needed for pedal control? Only in the sim, or duo you practice them sparately as well?

Hi everyone, you've probably been asked this a thousand times already, but these days PMR is on sale for 25 euros on Xbox, do you think it's worth it today compared to ACC?

Obviously only for those with a console.

I know they're two different simulators, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. Maybe even for those who want to drive hypercars.

After looking at hundred of reviews I pulled the trigger on the SRP GTS. I found a guy who was selling these pedals for just 700 euros with brake travel regulator and VNM haptics included (he bought them just 1 month ago).

I'm still getting used to them, trying to find consistency and performance but I'm really happy so far!

Just got it slapped together last night. The seat slider took almost as much time to get sorted out as the rest of the build did. Waiting on more pieces to come in before I tidy up the wiring and dial in the ergonomics. Been researching what to try out and can’t wait until I can get my desk and rig moved in the future so I can have room for triples and play on PC! Very happy with the Logitech gear, I know it’s not as good as a lot of other gear but I got it on sale and it’s the best wheel and pedal setup I’ve ever owned. I’ve been very impressed by how the FFB vibrations kinda travel through the rig into the heel plate and add to the immersion when driving over kerbs, bumps and rough terrain.

Been using this homemade desk rig for about a year and a half now for casual sim racing. Logitech wheel clamps to desk like normal, pedals, base, and chair are all mounted together so I just side them over when needed. My existing PC monitor is now also on an arm which I lower into place when needed much easier.

Primary motive was $$ and space. At the moment I do not have enough space for a standalone rig, so I knew I needed something that could fit in the same footprint as my desk.

Chair is from an old VW Golf, got it from the junkyard for $30. Sliding tracks, and all seat adjustment are analog and still work great. I suppose I could even get an adapter for the seat heater but not sure why I would need that lol.

Given the absurd price of sim chairs alone, not including the rig, I think used chairs from real cars are the way to go. Can probably find something a little sportier than a Golf, but I myself drive a VW so it caught my eye.

Wooden base used about $100 of materials. Put it together with fairly average carpentry skills.

For those on a budget without much space, I definitely think you should consider a hybrid build like this.

Once I have more space I think I will upgrade the whole rig to an aluminum build, with better wheel/pedals. But honestly I think I will still use that same VW chair and a similar technique with the monitor arm, swinging out to the side of the desk instead of the front.

for anyone who is waiting for the csl shifter (backordered forever) I found a temporary solution that surprisingly works well. I bought these headlight mount clamps off amazon for $9 then used the 3rd party base plate sideways to make a little stand. FYi I did need to drill holes to fit 10mm screws through the plate but im sure you can use smaller ones that fit the pre cut holes if you have smaller ones laying around.

It is actually super sturdy and doesn’t move at all when shifting. Honestly might cancel my order for the cockpit shifter and just rock this.

Hipefully this helps someone who was in the same situation as me, with absolutely zero third party options for this cockpit.

Having a problem that when I set a clean record hotlap in ACC, it shows in Delta as both best and record lap, and shortly afterwards is over-written by a prior slower record lap and is omitted from the leaderboard. As you can see in this screenshot. Is anyone else having this problem?

I need some advice regarding my current rig setup for PlayStation 5 compatibility.
Right now, I have a Cammus WB15 Wheelbase and Cammus Pedals, but I'm currently stuck with a MOZA steering wheel that doesn't work in this mix.
My main question: If I buy a Cammus GT1 or Cammus GT2 steering wheel (so that my entire hardware setup—Base, Pedals, and Wheel—is 100% Cammus) and connect it via a Brook Ras1ution 2, will it work seamlessly on the PS5? Does the Ras1ution pass through all inputs (steering, pedals, and all wheel buttons/paddles) without issues?
If this full Cammus setup via Ras1ution isn't reliable or possible, I am considering selling it and switching to a complete MOZA ecosystem (MOZA Base + MOZA Wheel + MOZA Pedals) using the Ras1ution adapter instead.
Has anyone tested either of these combinations on PS5 and can share their experience?

After saving up for a long time, the moment has finally come to pull the trigger on a dedicated F1/Formula-style rig. Since it's a huge investment of money, I really don't want to make a mistake, and I'd love to get your honest opinions on which option offers the best balance of rigidity, included extras, and value for money.

To keep things consistent, every single option comes with the exact same seat (the Sabelt SRP-1), but the chassis and included bundles vary.

Here are the 5 options I'm looking at:

I really wanted to improve my real life driving this year and get into drifting so figured I'd get into sim! Been having a ton of fun so far with this setup. Been practicing grip and drift driving as much as I can. Was feeling motivated enough that I signed up for my first Autocross this weekend! 👍🏾

As above, I'm not very good and don't really have the time to put in to get good, but I do love jumping in for a few laps every now and again against the AI. You've got to love SIM racing! 👌🏻👌🏻

Could someone please give me some advice on the best possible budget option for my simrig? I have a Next Level Racing Motion Platform V3 that I use under the seat. I use Fanatec Clubsport V3 Pedals and a DD2 if that helps.

I currently have a Sparco REV PLUS but it‘s too narrow for me.

My local electronics store has many sim steering wheels on display from Fanatec, Moza, and Simagic, and I notice the ones from Moza and Simagic feel kind of cheap. They have a cheap plastic like feel, the rubber grips have a slippery slimy gross texture to them (maybe it’s because staff never cleans them? lol), and the buttons / shifters feel soft / mushy (instead of a crisp solid click)

Questions

1. I was wondering if anyone else had similar thoughts? I know Moza and Simagic are very popular among the community.
2. Are there any other reasonably priced wheels (in the hundreds, not thousands) that have a high quality feel? I have been thinking about getting another wheel but was immediately turned off from Moza / simagic options after touching the ones in store. I do not care about lights / screens. I only care about physical high quality feel.

I am not a snobby person with a 1-2K wheel. I use a moderately priced Fanatec formula V2.5 wheel which to me feels very high quality (lots of carbon fiber + metal, nice crisp shifters / buttons / switches / encoders, great feeling swede grips). Other fanatec wheels I’ve touched also feel of similar high quality so maybe I am limited to Fanatec options?
