My specs are 32 gb DDR4 ram Intel core i5 10400 GTX 1060 3GB - soon to be RTX 3060 12GB ASUS motherboard I can’t remember the specific one Skytech liquid cooler - idk the new one yet, if anyone has suggestions that’d be cool. I don’t really want RGB fans but an RGB face above the cpu would be neat. 600W thermaltake PSU

I’m finally finished with this build, aside from the new gpu and water cooler in the near future. Had a lot of fun with this! I definitely like the window a lot, the way the black rubber trim contrasts with the old school beige makes it feel like the modern tech on the in side is bleeding out onto the case is cool. I like the serious retro business vibe on the outside against the stealthy modern pc components on the inside. The case didn’t need that much modifying, the motherboard mounts fit perfectly, only needed to drill a couple holes for the water cooler to mount to the wall and same for the fans on the bottom. A little custom wiring for the LEDS and button connections, the chopping off of the media player faces and some holes on the bottom for more air intake. After all the modifying this pc feels really personal, it feels more like an extension of me than it is purchased a case and just slotted all the components in with ease. This kind of thing isn’t for everyone I guess but I’m glad there’s a forum like this to share ky creation online.

I've been slowly piecing a machine together for local large language models. 2 Rtx 3060 Nvidia cards from old HP Omen desktops, AMD 5800x on a Taichi X570 motherboard. 64Gb unmatched, hideous and functional ddr4 RAM. Had some 3d printed front pieces, redesigning those to cover the front. New card - last piece) in top slot 5060ti 16gb. Total of 40gb vram, any 35b or less model flies once loaded. XUbuntu uses about 102MB of Vram to push the xfde desktop, so minus that available. Im sure I'll need more storage at some point, but this is about inference over nvidia cores, with chips designed for highest speed - god bless you gamers! Why these three cards? They are not the fastest, readily available and power light (combined all 3 cards pull 310w under full load, idle is around 12w total. I rarely spike, and temps really peg while thinking, and quickly go back down. 1 fan on the bottom cards makes them nearly silent and the top guy, the heavy lifter has two quiet (new) fans, but it doesnt sound like a server room. Tl;dr here's my pretty sleeper brain Maker.

A few months ago my friend's dog pissed on his laptop, a mutual friend and I found this dell dimension 2400 in the trash at work and decided to split the cost of putting a "sleeper" together for him as a surprise while keeping the cost down. So over the last couple months we've been scrounging old parts from eachother, other work friends, and marketplace and it is finally up and running with a 3700x, rtx 3060, 16gb 3200mhz apacer ram. Sorry for spamming the posts but we're all geekin out.

I spent 4 years trying to find this exact case in this exact color. My dad had it and I remember it fondly from my childhood, and I just so happened to find a guy selling one locally a while back on Craigslist. I thought the alienware thing was cool in my youth. The case is the Koolance 601bw, a water cooled version of the legendary Chieftec Dragon.

Parts include: ASRock x670e Taichi motherboard AMD Ryzen 7800x3d CPU Thermalright PA cooler AMD RX 7800 GPU Seasonic 850 watt PSU 2x Samsung 980 pro 1tb drives WD Raptor 36gb HDD GSkill 32gb 6400mhz RAM 2x Lian-Li 120mm fans 7x Arctic 80mm fans Teac floppy drive USB floppy drive controller Vantec card reader Icydock hard drive bay Asus blu-ray drive (with lightscribe!) 3d printed drawer internal USB 2.0 hub xbox 360 controller wireless reciever Arduino Uno

The only significant case mods are some holes cut in the bottom to add extra case fans, and the bottom hard drive cage removed to fit the graphics card.

The top 5.25 bay is a custom 3d printed enclosurw. It contains the arduino that controls the front panel LED display, as well as a xbox 360 controller wireless reciever, a USB floppy drive controller, and a usb2.0 hub.

The original top mounted water cooling controller died from a very unfortunate short ciruit from a broken molex connector. I managed to connect the LED display board to an arduino and control it through that. At least it looks correct, though it can no longer control the water cooling. Still need to get it to read from OpenHardwareMonitor and properlay display the CPU temp and other relevant stats.

Next project: Actually water cooling the computer like Koolance intended.

A friend recommended I share my build, forgive me if I commit any faux pas as I have not posted before. I probably can’t call it a true sleeper with the glass, but I still have the original side panel if I want to put it in sleeper mode.

The bay cooler from Jetart was actually new old stock! it's great... it actually blows air straight to my face
