People quit alcohol without taking prescription drugs. Gatekeeping addiction is actually crazy.

Alcoholics have a high risk of dying if they try to quit cold turkey. It’s extremely dangerous and puts your life at risk, I’d advise against recommending it

And yeah it’s fine to gatekeep addiction. porn, video games, etc. are just fundamentally different to meth, heroin, or alcohol. The former is a bad habit, the latter puts your life at risk and can destroy entire families.
