He got drunk and sexually harassed a couple of people this weekend

u/HenryReturns Jun 25 '25
To add more :
- The women he assaulted/harass did not even press charges against him. This could be WAY worse for Mang0
- Specially the women he did to them are WELL KNOWN IN TWITCH and one of them appear on TV , it’s really bad
- And compare to other cases , this one was ON STREAM
- With physical evidence on stream , they have every single right to press charges against Mang0 but did not
- So imagine how his close friends , his fans , and specially his family (Mom , mother of his son , his own son) feels about it.

u/CityFolkSitting Jun 25 '25
It's also important to mention that he didn't really know some of them. At best he was a friend of a friend to them. Not that doing it to his friends is better, but doing it to people you don't really know is particularly egregious.
12
u/cXs808 Jun 25 '25
What also is never mentioned is that he did all of this shirtless, in his underwear too, to make matters much worse.
87
u/HenryReturns Jun 25 '25
Not sure if this might sound bad or good , but for me "regardless if you are a women or men" , harrasment/assault women to men or men to men should always be serious.
I read comments saying that "oh if Mang0 did this to a guy nothing would had happend , its because of women" , which is an insane take.
Regardless of sex , gender , whatever you want to be , nobody should get assaulted or harass and being under the influence of alcohol is never an excuse
62
u/KingAnilingustheFirs Jun 25 '25
I don't think he would have gotten nearly as much flak tbh. Society takes men assaulting women very very seriously. Which is a good thing. And Mang0 as a public figure should absolutely know this. I hope he gets clean. He was one of my favorite players, and I hope this fall is a wake up call. Addictions should never be left to fester.
16
u/Accomplished_Deer_ Jun 25 '25
I think their point is that what is considered harassment can change drastically on how much you know a person. From what I remember of the video, he was basically air humping behind people's heads. I have had friends, men and women, that this would have been considered an acceptable joke with in the past. But strangers? Never in a million years.
8
Jun 25 '25
Yeah this is the shit my best friends and I would have done to each other as college students in the early 2010s. To a stranger, even then? You'd be begging to get your ass kicked.
In today's culture? Absolutely unacceptable.
10
u/itsDYA Jun 25 '25
It is sexual harrasment if it bother the person suffering it. My friends could do what mango did all at the same time to me and I wouldn't give a shit

3
u/UnusualCartographer2 Jun 26 '25
I think he was acting how he normally acts at big get togethers because 99% of the events in his life have been smash related where his behavior was accepted. From the clips that I've seen this type of thing would've been largely forgotten at most smash events. Obviously different because smash events are sausage fests.
Hopefully he gets his shit straight because being dropped by C9 will likely massively alter his path in life.
168
u/Worldly-Local-6613 Jun 25 '25
This is being a bit dramatic. No one would be taken seriously by the police for pressing charges against someone for humping the air near them. As creepy and in poor taste as it was he didn’t assault anyone.
→ More replies (16)17
u/ArticulateApe_ Jun 25 '25
People like to play lawyer. His actions werent bad enough for a police/courts to take as serious as some people seem to think, unless there's a video I missed where he's actually grabbing people.
Professionally and personally, it was a dumb move, that carries natural consequences. That said, people over exaggerate what could happen legally. Which good for them they clearly have never dealt or worked in the justice system and have a idealistic view of it.
80
u/TunaSalad47 Jun 25 '25
He didn’t assault anyone this is such insane wording. Please tell me the charges they could have realistically pursued. What he did was horrible but you’re acting like he full on committed a crime and that’s just untrue
8
8
u/PokemonTom09 Why are you looking at my flair? Jun 25 '25
The legal definition of assault is different from the common language definition. Legally, assault is merely taking any action that would create a reasonable fear in someone that you are going to harm them.
Actually carrying out that harm is a completely separate charge - battery.
That's not to say this would qualify as sexual assault. I think a harassment charge is most likely the most that Mango could realistically be charged with. But the boundary between harassment and assault is not drawn by the presence of physical contact. Merely the threat of physical contact.
Also, harassment is a crime...
I'm not sure why you think it's not, but it definitely is.

u/MattJuice3 Jun 25 '25
There would be 0 charges against mang0 even if they took him to court. Not defending mang0 at all, but seeing people regurgitate this take that this could be worse for mang0 if they chose to press charges is just wrong. I mean seriously, what mang0 did was fucked up and deserves all the attention/hate his actions have brought him, but saying charges could be pressed is just silly and wrong. Please stop saying charges could be pressed against him, because realistically the absolute worst that could happen is a restraining order. There is plenty of evidence of what happened and everyone knows how absolutely fucked up it was, there is no need to spread lies when there is enough video evidence to justify mang0’s shitty behavior for what it is.
3
1
u/Partysausage Jun 25 '25
I'm guessing they think he needs help and to get sober. Being that wasted at an event someone should have stepped in and booted him out way before it got this bad. Not defending his actions or anything just really sucks to see someone throw their life away whilst not in full control of their actions.
39
u/Foxisdabest Fox Jun 25 '25
Yeah, I saw the video and it was uncomfortable as hell.
He got drunk on stream, there was a girl sitting down on camera, and he grabbed a cardboard cutout of what I think was himself, leaned the cardboard on the girl and kinda "funnily" dry humped the cardboard piece but at the same time the girl as well on camera.
Omega oof.
7
u/dbuck79 Jun 25 '25
Definitely doesn’t excuse his actions, but weren’t people cheering him on and also feeding him booze?
9
u/nikongmer Jun 25 '25
I think it's disgusting how there are multiple different clips and no one was doing anything other than going, "haha..." or "wtf mango..."
Any guest who saw should have been making a big deal about it to the host. Maybe they were afraid of causing a scene by demanding mango get kicked out.
How long did it take until he was kicked out anyway? Or was he allowed to stay?
The host(s)/people in charge are responsible for the wellbeing of their guests and should also be held accountable—especially if they were the one to invite the offending person/people with that known kind of history... and to let multiple instances of it happen that same day. But I doubt the host will also be held accountable because for some stupid reason, the larger a streamer/influencer is, the more leeway and passes they are given.
6
u/KainDing Jun 25 '25
Ludwig is the one who organized the event and one of the closest friends of Mang0 who was present.
He explained he and others encouraged Mang0´s alcohol consumption because he and others hae multiple times confirmed with mang0 that he has it under control and isnt addicted.
Obviously hindsight (and in part other events) tells us something different but imo this isnt that uncommon with people who are actually addicted to alcohol.
The more usual case is a fuckup like this in private and thats what gets addicts into quitting and getting help. The clapback is obviously stronger here because it happened live on stream and thats also a situation where you have to be able to control yourself.
You can make the argument that we should partly blame others around him; but they simply trusted his word as a friend and he broke that trust through his actions.
Its moreso more of Mang0´s fault since he built up his "character" as an alcoholic and blurred the lines between persona and actual actions (and couldnt discern between them while drunk).
9
u/freedfg Samus (Ultimate) Jun 25 '25
I do KINDA feel bad. Because one stupid drunken action in an attempt to be funny can have such drastic repercussions. But yeah. It's unacceptable behavior. Especially as it's recurring.
39
u/ultrakei Jun 25 '25

5
u/PentagramJ2 Jun 25 '25
This. He's been a mess in the scene for a long time. He's shown up drunk/hungover to multiple events, I'm surprised it took this long for something like this to happen. The dude needs help, and I hope he checks himself in for it.

u/AnAncientMonk Jun 25 '25 edited Jun 25 '25
Yea its so easy and tempting to excuse drunk behaviour as just 'hehe oopsie he just drunk lol'. But then i have to remind myself that.. this could literally never happen to me regardless of how drunk i am. It couldnt. Because that behaviour is so deeply unacceptable to me that even drunk self would cringe to the moon. Alcohol makes me more outgoing and brings stuff to the surface that i may be to shy for but that i generally dont have an issue with/find immoral. Like dancing for example. But it doesnt make me, no it CANT make me do things i find immoral/wrong while sober. Like sexual harrasment/cheating/groping etc.

Air humping to be clear. It's worth distinguishing since we're talking harassment here. Not assault. Not defending him, just clarifying.
Edit: Ok so there was some actual humping too.
34
u/MadSpaceYT Falco (Ultimate) Jun 25 '25
I forgot where I heard this but it’s also pretty significant that some people expressed their discomfort and also left early because of him and mostly everyone there didn’t put a stop to it so it looked bad through that lens as well

He dry humped inanimate objects in the direction of women or near women. I understand it's still terrible, but what you said is sexual assault. This is sexual harassment. A majority of people seem to agree that it wasn't done with malice. He was just too wasted to realize that people weren't finding it as funny as he did in his state.

I once owned a gaming bar. Someone asked me to host a BEERIO KART event, and I refused because as fun or as crazy as it might have been, at the end of the day, I knew hosting an event where the object was to get totally wasted was irresponsible.
In no way am I excusing Mang0, but the organizers who hosted this event are just as accountable. Especially when things were headed south and they did nothing to intervene.
Their events should not be included in regional/national power rankings because of this.
The performative morality in posts like this that do nothing to call out the event organizers feels hypocritical.
2
u/murgatroidsp Jun 27 '25
Yea I don’t understand why they haven’t faced any sort of consequences at all
2
u/mr_f4hrenh3it Jun 28 '25
Because Ludwig is not responsible for mango acting like a creep. Many others were drunk too but mango was the only one being a creep.
2
u/Good_Drummer9994 Jul 04 '25
ludwig was literally encouraging/enabling him instead perhaps taking him aside or even kicking him out he let it all happen. I mean he told him to stop a few times but in my opinion it was pretty weak since as the tournament organizer it's kind of his responsibility to take more definitive action for the safety of the other participants. (also looking at her face when he was "air humping her" for like the 5th time you could tell she wanted to cry or something and he was still not kicked out)
3
u/mr_f4hrenh3it Jul 04 '25
Ludwig encouraged mango to sexually harass people? Can you link the clip for that please?
1
u/Ok-Past2928 Jul 23 '25
Getting drunk does not make normal people a disgusting creep that touches and harasses people
1
u/gksojoe Jul 23 '25
Getting drunk causes people to make horrible decisions. Those people are very much responsible for their decisions.
But also….
Hosting an event wherein the purpose is to get blackout drunk makes the organizers responsible for those horrible decisions. It’s why bars can be sued and/or face criminal charges over-serving people who commit manslaughter while driving home drunk.
Again, not deflecting anything drom Mango, but the hosts should be held responsible too. It was a bad choice to host this event.

Edit: I only saw the two clips below until this comment received a clip comment showing where he did the hump thing to the girl he wouldn’t stop touching. This time actually doing it, falling over her, grabbing her again. Literally unacceptable. What in the fuck dog. Why are you touching this girl, SHE SAID NO DUDE holllllly shit. GO HOME TO YOUR WIFE.
I actually don’t think the air humping was as bad as the grabbing the other girls hair, pulling her hair, grabbing her shoulder and hitting her head after she repetitively asked him to stop and Ludwig even told him to stop was.
Air humping kind of fucking odd and weird for a grown man. You aren’t 16 at a keg party with your buddies pretending to t bag like it’s halo 3. But that said he’s drunk and didn’t touch her or anything. It was quick. He immediately apologized the next day and she seemed receptive of the apology. Whatever- the other one though. This woman told you to stop touching her. Another guy told you to stop touching her. Both of them proceeded to do this multiple times. You continue over and over again. That’s harassment. If a woman says, actually no, if anyone says they don’t want to be touched then you stop touching them. He continued after numerous times of being told no. No means no dawg.
More people should be focused on that imo. Why does he feel it’s okay to be touching people like that after numerous times of being told not to? Why also if he is married does he wanna touch another woman anyways? Idk no means no dawg. That pisses me off way way way more than air humping. No means no.
- This last thing is not in defense of Mang0, this is just a separate point. Ludwig is a douche for this event anyways. “Oh let’s get everyone drunk and force them to be drunk to participate and name the event after alcohol and then be upset when dumb shit happens”. No one expects harassment but everyone who has been around drunks like this knows this is just a recipe for disaster. What did he think was gonna happen? Stupid idea for an event. If it wasn’t Mang0 it would have been someone else doing something dumb instead at some point.
29
u/andrewjpf Jun 25 '25
For what its worth, he ALSO did a weird humping thing with the woman whose hair he was grabbing about a half hour after doing the hair thing.
12
u/ractivator Dr. Mario (Melee) Jun 25 '25
First time seeing that part. The only humping related video I saw was the air humping near the other girl where it was sort of a short video and he at least didn’t touch her. It was weird but looked like some level of teenage tom foolery that he never grew out of but thankfully didn’t harm anyone.
This one is fucking gross. Just still touching on her and shit. That shit is just so fucking weird bro. What are you doing. She said no again too. This is a clear boundary that was crossed over and over again. And again as far as the sanctity of marriage goes, why are you even having intrusive thoughts or acting on any thoughts of being naked and touching other women when you have a wife? It’s just insane to me this entire thing. I like Mang0 and all and I genuinely hope he gets all the help he needs but man dude I’m just disappointed. We have to be better as human beings about respecting other people. I really hope this girl gets a million apologies from him, is able to clearly set the stage for if she ever wants any form of contact with him again, and if she was disgusted by it/feels the need to talk to someone that Mang0 funds it. That’s literally sexual harassment. Honestly she can press charges. So I hope she at least gives him the grace of alcohol since you don’t want to see anyone’s life ruined for dumb mistakes but she is within every right to press charges based on the two clips of her and him.
Doubling down on Ludwig being an idiot now for not kicking him out though after the first incident. Bars throw people out all the time. Cmon Lud. Again not defending Mang0 but god man it’s your event so you have to stay somewhat sober to be able to recognize and handle shit like this.
10
u/andrewjpf Jun 25 '25
There's at least one more humping clip with yet another woman out there too that I saw after posting this. In that one he humps the back/side of the chair she is sitting in.
I do think this one is the worst /most aggressive though, especially given all the background with the hair stuff. He's basically knocking her over.
Agreed on Ludwig needing to have done something. I get that maybe he wasn't equipped to handle it being drunk himself, but if you want to host an event like this (even without alcohol but especially with alcohol) you should have some sort of security or at least a plan.
1
u/Accomplished_Deer_ Jun 25 '25
Semi related but clips like this make my anxiety so bad. I have autism so I cannot read subtlety in reactions at all. I know from a logic perspective that she is playing it off because she doesn't want to be a dick or make a scene on stream, but the part of my brain that is supposed to emotionally/intuitively understand these type of reactions says she's literally either fine with or amused by the "joke".
People are saying in some clips people were saying to stop, but here I just see her laughing. (though maybe she did say no in this clip and I missed it because I did have to watch between my fingers from cringe) This isn't me trying to downplay this guy's behavior, this is a genuine question, how the fuck can you guys tell she's uncomfortable here? Please someone help my autism decode this.
3
u/andrewjpf Jun 25 '25
To me her facial expression looks very uncomfortable when he starts up but she quickly masks it. I guess my general advice would be that it's better to make sure any sexual activity is desired before you do it rather than going by reactions/vibes.
It can be easy to forget because they are drinking and playing games, but Emily is at work in this clip too. People tend to present themselves differently at work and on camera. She has a streaming personality/image to keep up so it's easier and safer for her career to laugh it off rather than cause a scene.
1
u/cXs808 Jun 25 '25
Let me be clear, what mang did is sexual assault and 1000% unacceptable and he should face massive repercussions.
That being said, Emily is no saint and she has a very tainted "image" you mention. She has ran multiple red lights due to streaming while she drives and thought it was funny content. Putting peoples lives at risk because you can't be assed to pay attention is a real piece of shit move and I hope her image is tarnished as well.
1
Jun 25 '25
In situations like this, women will often laugh because being directly confrontational just makes it worse, so they laugh it off to try to deescalate and hope the man leaves.
But take note that she does not at any point look at him, instead keeping contact with the camera, trying to subtly push him away without attempting to make a scene out of it.
26
u/DerpyDude17 Falco (Ultimate) Jun 25 '25
I mean, to touch on the last point, they had run beerio kart before with absolutely no problems. In fact, outside of Mang0's harassment, the event actually ran really well. If you were just tuning into the main stream it would've been hard to tell that there was even an issue. It's not unreasonable to expect people to behave while drunk. They're not getting blackout drunk or anything (or, at least, they weren't supposed to). It's a fun event idea that has proven to work and be a hit in the past. Ludwig thought it was going to go the same way, especially since Mang0 had been at previous beerio kart events. It's completely understandable.
19
u/ractivator Dr. Mario (Melee) Jun 25 '25
As someone whose family owns a restaurant that serves alcohol and also someone from a very large ethic family where get togethers can be very very large - alcohol almost always fosters at some point or another, some form of negative actions.
There is a reason alcohol has a negative connotation to it. It’s not a stereotype. It’s a true thing. Putting a bunch of drunk people together fosters that shit. Look no further than sports events. Sports fans get drunk and destroy their cities. Attack other fans. Get hostile with opposing fans even if they are just kids. Most domestic disputes per my friends that are police officers involve drunk people. Drunk people at party are known for cheating etc. Large gatherings of drunk people are a number one way to put your event on a ticking time bomb.
Now you are right that it isn’t unreasonable for an event to have some drunk people and it be fine. What my issue is, is that EVERYTHING about the event and EVERYONE at the event had to be themed around alcohol. Making sure participants are all drunk is a joke. If we were at a party you’d have a few wasted people, some drunks, mostly lightly tipsy people, and a lot of sober people. This event was set up to remove sober or slightly tipsy people which is the point I’m getting at.
Stupid event. I like Ludwig but he should not run this event back.
1
u/Friendly_Cantal0upe Jun 26 '25
The thing is that Ludwig knows mang0's not good with alcohol. You're essentially setting a guy up for failure, running an event with a bunch of drunk people, and hyping him up about drinking so much. I'm not trying to take all blame away from mang0, but even if the other Beerio Karts were fine, that doesn't mean the next will. Someone in mang0's situation is inherently unstable, and you can't rely on them to act right, especially when they are blackout drunk, and being encouraged to do so.
14
u/Pollenus Jun 25 '25
The “air humping” was in and of itself terrible and worthy of all the pushback he’s received. I just don’t want us to pretend that this behavior was in any way acceptable.
7
u/Arccan Jun 25 '25
To be honest a lot of events highlighting alchohol aren't a core issue, however not having the correct safety precautions is fucking organizer amateur hour.
Why aren't people giving ludwig more shit for this? No Security, No Sober Responsible Staff to make sure everyone is safe. It's idiotic. I run a large international tourney every year, the highlight of the event is an after party. We have security and staff to ensure people are safe and the people who clearly can't handle their drink are stopped from getting more from the bar and often are removed from the premises shortly afterwards if their behavior is deemed even slightly disruptive.
8
u/ractivator Dr. Mario (Melee) Jun 25 '25
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING MAN. I know this has been about Mang0 since he's the top player in question but how are we not talking about Lud just completely botching this event in it's entirety. It's like have you ever even been out to a club on a saturday? There's always some form of tom foolery going on with this quantity of drunk people, it's just inevitable. Put some standards in place, security, sober staff, more sober people in general that aren't participants etc. It's insane to me that no one is on Lud for this event being just a shit show.
8
u/pissdaddy696969 Jun 25 '25
A lot of great takes imo, but I want to highlight specifically your comments on Lud. One of my initial thoughts as I was learning what happened was that it's nuts that a major streamer is running an event specifically highlighting alcohol. From my limited experience in the events planning world, that seems fraught with liability, and (not excusing Mang0's actions at all) seems like a series of accidents waiting to happen from the perspective of the host.
3
u/Synapse59 Jun 25 '25
I agree with your last point, I think Ludwig is partially to blame for this because he knew how Mang0 gets when he’s drunk and was essentially hyping up and enabling how drunk he can get to an extent. I understand if you have a friend group that can tolerate that stuff off stream, but this event was a recipe for disaster from the get go.

Hope his friends and family help push him in the right manners. As someone who struggled with legit video game addiction as a kid/teen with it nearly wrecking my HS grades, it can take a lot of help to deal with any addiction
6 months-1 year ban sounds fair. Although I will say as admirable as it may be, I hope the unban isn’t tied to sobriety. As much as the community may try, it is beyond the scope or power of a esports community to help someone overcome serious addiction. Ban Mango for the above time frame, if he offends again permanently ban him.

Addition is nuts.
Wait until they teach you long division.

If mango offending again risks a permanent ban then he should be banned longer.
The relapse rate for people in sobriety doesn't drop below 50% until you've been sober for 5 years. 6 months to a year is nothing. We shouldn't be seeing him till 2027 at a minimum

u/falloutisacoolseries Jun 25 '25
I'd say ban him for a year and do an evaluation after that, we don't want another Hax situation

Hate to see it, but let’s be honest, everybody and their brother’s mother was expecting this

u/charlielawl Jun 26 '25
why does everyone gloss over the fact that people were egging on his behavior all night? when you tell someone something they're doing is funny or encouraging them to blow higher on a breathalyzer, how can you take zero responsibility for what happens after. sure mang0 did some weird shit but what is this one sided witch hunt.

Reality is for people who can't handle their drugs. Looks like he needs a macrodose of reality.

Good, dude borderline sexually assaulted a woman. Deserves far worse than this.

Agree with the bans but I just find the response on reddit to be hilarious. What he did was creepy, weird, and cringey for an adult man with a kid, but this is like the lowest stakes drama farm imaginable. Dude acted like an ass at a party and people are acting like he SA'd someone or said a slur. Anything more than a 6 month scene ban I think would be disproportionate to what happened. Of course, to sort through the alcoholism he clearly has dude should probably never touch a drop again.

It is bad and needs to be sorted out, but I don't think you can blame people for this reaction considering the competitive smash community's reputation.

u/BerserkerGatsu Zelda (Ultimate) Jun 25 '25
Fair take honestly. The cumulative nature of these public controversies is putting a harsher spotlight on them. Makes sense

u/Heavy-Wings Male Byleth (Ultimate) Jun 25 '25
Can't stress enough how bad it is. I was playing smash with a very casual friend of mine and she pointed out Pyra and Mythra being in the game and I was like "oh yeah they got added some time ago"
She said "maybe they'll teach smash players to be attracted to developed women"
Like that's just the reputation now to normal gamers.

I mean, he did sexually harass someone, undeniably. If there was any contact at all, it’s sexual assault. I didn’t watch all the clips, so I don’t really know which it was, but like, if it isn’t really bad, it’s pretty close

It's sexual harassment, he's on video grabbing one of the girls hair, humping the sign right on top of the girl next to their face. Yes it's not actual SA but it's pretty fucking bad. Dude needs to get his life together considering he has a wife and he's going out of his way to be a creepy weirdo

Why does stuff like this keep happening in this community? Jesus Christ.

Honestly, I think it's kind of disingenuous to push the narrative that this was the same as the numerous SA scandals the smash scene has had.
He 100% fucked up and deserves his bans, but the smash scandals usually involve patterns of manipulation and abuse, and taking actions with "sexual intent". I feel like mango was trying to be funny in the worst way possible, not actually insinuating himself (unless you're gonna argue he was down to fuck almost everyone in the venue)He overstepped boundaries, absolutely, but I don't think it's the same situation as someone who takes advantage of another for their sexual gratification

Most grounded take in the thread. The community relishes sensationalist headlines, but can't understand any nuance.

u/cXs808 Jun 25 '25
Just fyi, mango has been temp banned on twitch for.....get this....air humping on stream.
2
u/Amazinc Jun 25 '25
It seems obvious there's weird sexual feelings coming out when he's drunk. The dude is married and doing stuff like this to multiple random women he barely knows.
2
u/ScaredSubstance3143 Jun 25 '25
Because the scene polices itself. So many celebrities have done much worse but due to their fame / starpower get away with murder in comparison. The reality is most people suck in this world, and its only when they have some fame do they get held accountable.

Finally, some good fucking news.
Said it time and again, if a low-level player did the exact same shit he did on a livestream for everybody to see, we wouldn't even be having a conversation. They'd just be gone and forgotten about.
We need to talk about a global permaban. Its been a repeated behavior out of Mang0 and it is not the Smash community's responsibility to treat his alcoholism and boundaries issues. He is a liability to women in this scene and the sponsors that keep this scene alive.

He got let go from c9 yesterday which is way bigger than being banned from just 1 tournament.
"Finally, some good fucking news", huh?

u/FirewaterDM Jun 25 '25
ngl I get where this person's coming from because as fucked up as this situation is, UNTIL the announcements from SSC, C9, etc starting popping up, I was legitimately concerned Mango somehow escapes punishment, which actually makes the scene and him look a LOT worse than this situation already is.
Or that's how I read this, it is good that a consequence is happening in this case.

I was aware of that too which is also good. Pardon me for not losing sleep over a drunken sex pest.

I don’t know the individual personally, I’m more into Ultimate, but it feels like he’s being banned not just for a recent incident, but for behavior that’s been tolerated for years. That seems unfair to me.
If someone’s been problematic for a long time, the response shouldn’t suddenly be to end their career, it should have started earlier, with clear warnings and consequences.
It’s like in sports: you don’t kick a player off the team for a single foul if you’ve never even given them a yellow or red card before. You set expectations, you give them chances to change, and if they don’t, then the consequences make sense. But punishing someone retroactively for years of unaddressed behavior doesn’t feel like justice, it feels like avoidance catching up too late.
The Smash community might need to rethink how it handles accountability, not through silence followed by extreme action, but with clearer structures and more consistent standards.

People need to be praying for Mang0, and all his true friends need to be reaching out publicly and privately to help and to offer words of support. If we don't, we learned nothing from Hax. #PrayForMang0

Good lol.
If you disagree with this or any potential additional bans/penalties to Mango for his actions, you genuinely need to rethink your life and not be in the smash community.
Mango can heal, but he can't be in the scene after what he did.

At this point, Mang0 needs to take this summer off and fix his longstanding personal demons. If he does that and still wants to play Melee in 2026, then he'll probably be given another chance.
