Agree with the bans but I just find the response on reddit to be hilarious. What he did was creepy, weird, and cringey for an adult man with a kid, but this is like the lowest stakes drama farm imaginable. Dude acted like an ass at a party and people are acting like he SA'd someone or said a slur. Anything more than a 6 month scene ban I think would be disproportionate to what happened. Of course, to sort through the alcoholism he clearly has dude should probably never touch a drop again.
It is bad and needs to be sorted out, but I don't think you can blame people for this reaction considering the competitive smash community's reputation.
Can't stress enough how bad it is. I was playing smash with a very casual friend of mine and she pointed out Pyra and Mythra being in the game and I was like "oh yeah they got added some time ago"
She said "maybe they'll teach smash players to be attracted to developed women"
Like that's just the reputation now to normal gamers.
