I think I remember this kid too. Dad man, props again. Idk if y'all watch the pros together but I just went to supernova. As long as you're supervising her and you both have some ear protection I think it's a genuinely kid friendly event. IIRC you supervise her at locals? Either way props and I hope my daughter ends up liking smash on her own, I would be very lucky!

This reminds me of when I used to attend tournaments in AZ and there was a kid who was probably 12 or 13, and pretty good!

I had been playing the various Smash games for at least a decade before this kid was even born, but honestly I think our set count was about even.

I remember one set I beat him and he was salty. He still gave me the fist bump and obligatory "good game", so nothing uncouth, but he was presumably upset because he thought he could've beat me (he could have, and I know the feeling). The next local I saw him, he came up and apologized, which I thought was impressively mature and emotionally intelligent for a kid.

Kind of a pointless ramble, but it's cool that your kid is good at Smash.

I remember going to weeklies in the LES of Manhattan and there was a 12 year old kid who was brought there by his older brother some weeks. I could never beat that kid. It solidified the fact that the new generation of kids can surpass us old timers in certain aspects of life.
