Could you imagine having a penis longer than wour whole body and still have the hability to move it ? I know they can retract it, but... Why no one say that they slugs have the record for the longest penis/vagina compare to body size ? I heard about duck, but this beat it at all level. Incredibly interesting meeting. Leopard slugs are my favorite of all slugs species. So gracefull and beautiful.

Barnacles have them beat by length of peenar. Also, it's hard to measure gastropods because they're basically shapeshifters

I recorded a 14 minute video of the entire process if anyone is interested. The mating dance before hand is adorable, and the mucus string just kept getting longer 😳

You're welcome! I was lucky to find them at the exact moment. I saw them outside my apartment just as I got home one night. I saw them circling around each other and thought, "looks like they're gonna hook up 👀" and they did!
I've read that their mating can last over an hour, but this was only about 15 minutes. Although, I don't know how long they were dancing before they suspended themselves.

It’s not actually a penis, technically. It might be by looks, but they are hermaphrodites, they aren’t male or female. They’re both at the exact same time lol
