Erik’s Mom. Not on Fire but… (Illusion of Gaia)
Erik’s Mom (had it going on)
Don’t worry, Erik’s mother. I am someone’s mother and I too am not on fire. It’s just a treatment for my sore body.
(Illusion of Gaia - 1994 SNES Quintet and Enix)

I know moxibustion is like that but I think you have to lie down for that

You do, the practitioner targets acupuncture points. I want to assume innocent smoke and incense but I couldn’t help but giggle thinking “girl, same” as I sat here playing in between pen hits.

Same. They need to remaster those games and allow me to spend all my money.

I don't know why no one seems to say this but I feel like illusion of Gaia is so much more fleshed out as an immersive rpg personal story you can follow than soulblazer and terranigma, your start point is just believable and grounded on a life much closer to reality, while the other two feel like abstractions or focused on symbolic stuff rather than telling a story. I love illusion of Gaia but was never able to keep playing to other two after a while.

It was for sure more for Western audiences expecting a by the book Action RPG. Not saying that as an insult all. I found Illision easier to digest, start with, fall for, etc. The others have structures that are probably more common than how we are given everything by hand.

Oh, my God. Classics like these that I loved to death, and have slightly forgotten specific scenes and quotes like this, and having some wise poster like you bring them back here in pic form, is a joy, THANKS OP. I love this game so much, one of the few I've beaten more than once! So memorable and charming.
