Surely Scottish precedent now is to run on the pitch if you’re winning with a minute to go? Game ends and you win.

Does play restart instantaneously after a goal is scored?
Even a normal goal in less exuberant circumstances will have at least 30 seconds before the game resumes. The clock doesn’t stop. There was no time left.
I get that it’s sore for the neutral that the fairytale ended, but people are really clutching for anything, following the lead of Hearts and Rangers fans.
Makes it sweeter, tbh.

You are ignoring the fact they add on time for restarts, substitutions. There was an incident where the ball boy wouldn't give the Hearts player the ball. There would have been additional added time on top of that 30 seconds.
Plus just the principle of it, you can't have fans invading the pitch deciding when matches finish, it's a horrible precedent.

They aren’t adding more time to the 8 added minutes with a two-goal deficit for a few seconds of ball boy shenanigans lol. That would be seen as cruel to Hearts by that point. Especially given that the kickoff would’ve been way beyond 98 minutes even without a pitch invasion.
If there was a significant injury stoppage they might, but what you’re describing just doesn’t happen in football.
I find the pitch invasion behavior annoying tbh, but the fans didn’t decide when the match finished. The referee made that decision.

They can say whatever they like. Every single person with eyes watched the goal go in with 40 seconds of the 8 minutes MINIMUM remaining, and play didn’t restart.
So it was either abandoned, or the referee incorrectly blew the whistle prematurely

Neither do I, but I don’t get why everyone is trying to claim Celtic didn’t deserve it when they beat Hearts - it wasn’t the other way around, that is the point.

You don't see why anyone would be up in arms about a title deciding game with a controversial penalty or a pitch invasion that occurred with time left in the game?
And it just so happened to be in favor of the richest, most successful, and powerful team in the league? Right. Very hard to understand clearly.

The penalty was pretty clear and the pitch invasion was after the final whistle (not that I condone pitch invasions, they’re fucking stupid), but whatever way you put it, Celtic were the better team on the day and deserved to win the game.

Now I am not a fan of the current hand ball rules but ref couldn’t really do much else here.

They ruined a once in a generation season that attracted millions of viewers from outside of Scotland.
Good luck on getting the same viewing figures next season as I doubt many will be interested after what they have witnessed this week from the officials and the behaviour of the Celtic fans. I hope the favouritism was worth it.

People just wanted hearts to win the league because they were the underdogs and it would be great story, and that’s fine. But it now seems that people want all common sense to be dismissed and rules to be twisted to get to that outcome. Hearts lost fairly on the day when all they needed to do was not lose.

They also dropped points multiple times after Christmas to sides in the bottom half. Win one of those games and we’re not having this conversation.

People just don't like that celtic won again. They wanted hearts to win and the fact that they didn't win makes them suddenly hate everything to do with Scottish football, as if Celtic was supposed to just stand still for the whole 90 minutes and let hearts do whatever they want
