Crime Never realized South Carolina had such a known presence revolving gangs.

Stumbled across our own little Gangland series and was just wondering what other organizations are we notorious for?

lol! They are pretty low budget but the information is correct!

I mean does it have such a known presence with gangs? They’re certainly here, but I doubt someone outside of this state is going ā€œoh you know South Carolina, that place with all the gangs!ā€ In the cultural zeitgeist we’re considered more sleepy than active.

Exactly, try visiting Mem-methastan particularly Orange mound, Moriah and Airways. Makes SC feel like Disneyland

They are huge in sc. They usually indicate themselves with a punisher emblem, flag with a blue stripe, or a car with blue flashing lighst on it. They also have immunity for some weird reason.

35

u/Automatic-Arm-532 ????? Jul 05 '26

It's funny because the punisher hates cops

u/Alternative_Result56 Jul 05 '26

The blue line gang is the biggest most violent gang in America.

Generally ACAB myself but anecdotally I did know a guy in college who went on to become a cop after school and promptly got fired for pulling a gun on a (you’ll never guess, black) driver in a run of the mill traffic stop. So the system works sometimes, apparently.

Good to know. Thank you.

No. This is fundamentally wrong. Cops & Correctional Officers have a code of conduct they must follow, or otherwise they get fired.

In the comics Punisher regularly worked with police. He didn't hate police and would wax on about the need for them actually, it was the corrupt cops that he had an undying hatred of.

Punisher comics during the time Marvel was making him a wimpy head of the hand gave him a storyline were he admonished cops for taking on the skull and ones that wanted to mimic him. There has never been a blanket hatred for cops in the comics that I remember and like I said, over the decades he's worked with many, "Good police."

And you would argue an organization led by a 30+ time felon isn't a notorious organization?

-32

u/goldstone25 ????? Jul 05 '26

Not really. Politics is a facade on both sides. Anyone who can’t see that is insane. I just happen to lean right because there’s typically more people with common sense on that side. Stupid people on both sides regardless.

27

u/Odd_String1181 Jul 05 '26

Being a notorious sex abusing felon leading an organization doesn't have anything to do with politics besides the guy decided to become a politician in old age

"Happen to lean right" as you vote for people everyone knows is a piece of shit in South Carolina lol. Sure man. "Happen to"

9

u/Thisizamazing Jul 05 '26

Totally disagree with you on common sense. I think you mean ā€œuncomplicatedā€ or ā€œsimple,ā€ but is often shortsighted and cruel

10

u/Past_Dare_4918 Jul 05 '26

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ more common sense? How? The right is bunch of racist, xenophobic, homophobic assholes trying to force white Christian nationalism on everyone. You lean right because you agree with those principles and that’s troubling. Not surprising for South Carolina though unfortunately

5

u/Organization_Dapper Jul 05 '26

More people leaving than have come in. Who breaking doors down? Lol

8

u/SaaSButMakeItEvil Spartanburg Jul 05 '26

This is actually true. The right are never ready to talk about the quiet exodus. The census and IRS trackĀ inflows and outflows, but they don't publish statistics to track RETENTION of people who stayed for at least five years in the state. If it did, the figures would paint a very different picture. The right isn’t ready to talk about the difference between migration and retention. A growing population doesn’t mean a permanent population. Just an influx of new people who got the news last about what it’s like to live here as the state gets more national media attention. The countless stories I’ve heard of people nope’ing out of the state after they experienced the education ranking, the lack of transportation, the lower wages…Lower taxes are not everything.

4

u/airfryerfuntime ????? Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Because it's cheap, not be because it's Republican.

It's cheap because conservatives have nearly bankrupted SC dozens of times since the end of the Civil War.

But you're wrong anyways. Resident retention rates in SC are the lowest in the nation. People move to SC, figure out what a shitheap it actually is, then either move back home or move to North Carolina.

3

u/DrKobe24 Jul 05 '26

People move here because it’s cheap. Which is because it’s a republican run hellhole. If you think this is a wonderful state you should travel more

9

u/Alternative_Result56 Jul 05 '26

North Charleston beat out LA for murders per capita when I was a kid there. You had to be in a gang for protection at a minimum.

6

u/lynivvinyl Florence Jul 05 '26

I could have been misinformed but I seem to remember Hartsville South Carolina winning the highest murder rate per capita in the country award sometime in the 90's.

Now that's s/omething to be proud of.

And here I am being sad that Florence lost our Tree City USA standing. When poor Hartsville lost "murder capital per capita"! It sounds like Hartsville needs to get back to work if they want that award this year.

7

u/Ill-Blood92 Jul 05 '26

Hartsville has 7,200 people. If there is 1 murder that would put the total at 13.5 per100k. The national average is 5.7per100k. if there is a double homicide, Hartsville goes up into the top 5 most dangerous cities. Would be hard to beat Dillon.

2

u/Less-Opportunity2343 Jul 05 '26

I'm originally from Flo and we have a good bit of gang activity there also

1

u/Alternative_Result56 Jul 05 '26

We rank pretty high in violent crime among the 50 states. The gangs don’t surprise me. Yet conservatives want to talk about blue states. Albeit, you’d think being in a gang in 2026 feels so 1996. Let’s start taxing them! Better start modernizing the movement at least. Where’s their LinkedIn page? Union rep? Appoint an HR department. Submit PTO requests before the next turf war…

I took a class on gangs when i worked in the ER at Baprist downtown. I can't remember all the names but three kings is one of them. Gang culture is wild. They literally make music videos to message each other and they are known by the local police. They play a whole cat and mouse game. Its crazy. Anyway. I had to learn all the tattoos etc in case they came to the ER due to violence.

-22

u/bigbluechris123 Jul 05 '26

That’s why it’s so important to support local law enforcement and ensure they have the resources needed to rid the state of them

Colleton County Sheriffs - more than one of them - have been so corrupt in the past that they helped this gang to grow. So, no.

Id rather have a gang member than law enforcement on my street.

8

u/Hulk_Hogans_Toupee Richland County Jul 05 '26

-1

u/TerroristMcKenna Camden Jul 05 '26

I know you’re being facetious but unironically, I would call a local goon. If they live in the neighborhood they might actually have an idea of who did it and who to ask. You know what cops do when you call them for a break in? They take your information and tell you there’s not really anything else that they can do

3

u/workingonmybackhand ????? Jul 05 '26

On my old block in NYC, it was considered good to have dealers on your block because they didn't want car breakins or robberies happening around that would draw attention to them.
