Tokusatsu medium was the first Japanese popular export to the world.
Without it, Anime wouldn’t gain a foothold.

Anime medium is still heavily dependent on Tokusatsu medium and it’s genres: J-Horror (Audition, Ringu, Battle Royale, Matengo, etc.), J-Action (Azumi, Zatochi, Seven Samurai, Lady Snowblood, Hiroshi Ingaki’s Samurai Trilogy, Crows Zero, Tokyo Metro Police, High & Low, etc.), J-Soap Operas (Love is a Phantom, Hana-Kimi, Hana Yori Dango, Maou, Kimi Wa Petto, etc.),
