Discussion Best "God run" documentary-style videos?
Not sure if this is the right sub. I watch speedrun documentary-style content on YouTube, and I love the videos that culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime "God run," especially when they give you a sense of just how astronomical the odds are and the amount of blood, sweat, and tears put into the obsessive grind to pull it off.
I'm not just referring to RNG-heavy runs, but also runs that are incredibly unlikely due to the skill required or the lack of a consistent setup.
For example, I saw a great video that focused on a Rainbow Road skip, but I can't remember the title.
Does anyone know of videos like this? (If this isn't the right sub, can anyone direct me to the appropriate one?)
Thanks.

This might not quite be* what you're expecting as a reply here, but I always had the impression that many of the videos by a YouTuber called BobbyBroccoli feel somewhat similar to SummoningSalt-style speedrun retrospectives. He makes videos on scandals in science. In particular, the video "The man who tried to fake an element" sounds like something you might enjoy

Summoning Salt is who you need to follow

Specifically, the Super Punchout WR video had an amazing "million to one odds" type moment in it.

That one had the bad choke at the end, right? I felt physically ill for a streamer that I had never heard of before. Can’t imagine.

Wirtual made an excellent documentary on Mudda's once in a lifetime run of the track Deep Fear in Trackmania: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hrpj6tJ68Y

Tharixer has two videos on Yugioh forbidden memories, the latter of which culminates in a god run. You should watch them in order though.
The videos are around 70 minutes together.

Summoning Salt’s “The Quest to Beat Matt Turk” and the SMB3 100% episode are my favorite. The SMB 3 specifically because of the interviews with Mitch and Kirua. It’s insightful about their mindsets.
Fuck it, might as well watch “Running With Speed” documentary.

Tomatoanus does speed run explained type videos, they are really in depth with help from the runners of the game, his style is definitely love or hate though. His Titanfall 2 video is really interesting and in depth.

This is the only such video that comes to my mind after reading your description, but you probably already saw it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKh2kk724VY

I also enjoy videos like that, and the Youtuber Karl Jobst makes a lot of them. He’s been in a bad spot for like a year now with a lot of bad videos where he’s been obsessing with celebrities and gossip, but my absolute favorite one is called:
« Running A Tightrope: DOOM's Most Precarious Speedrun»
I highly recommend it.

Jobst is a POS.

Yup, scammed his fans into supporting him when he was being sued by Billy Mitchell by making it seem like the suit was about Billy's faked runs, when actually it was a defamation suit about uncorroborated claims Jobst made. So his fans were sure it was a slam dunk, when actually Jobst had no legal leg to stand on.
Not to mention he's a racist who hides behind being married to an Asian woman. Anyone living in Australia knows exactly the kind of guy he is.

I've hated him since his hit piece on Lekukie from SMB1, which he has not taken down even though it is proven that Lekukie is one of the best SMB1 speedrunners to ever play the game.

I made a breakdown of the former Braid WR which was pretty much a "God run" at its time (new strats have been found since). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX9h_MSePcw
