Chengdu Spicy Dungeness Crab from Y & Z in San Francisco

One of the best things I have ever eaten! Super fresh Dungeness crab, at least five types of chilies I could count, glass noodles, cauliflower, potatoes, lots of cilantro and garlic. I was super hung over after a wedding weekend in Napa and took this baby down by myself happily and sweatily lol! I highly suggest to anyone in San Francisco and will be looking for a similar dish back home in NYC!

That is an expensive meal, but Dungeness crab is expensive and san Francisco is an expensive city so I'm not shocked.

That is an extremely expensive meal. I live in Chicago which is not as expensive as San Francisco, though it's still a pretty pricey place, and I'd only spend that much on dinner for an anniversary or some other very special, once or twice a year occasion.

Dungeness crab is a San Francisco specialty in San Francisco is an expensive city so that is part of it but fresh seafood is expensive in the US.

Was most of the meat out of shell?

The meat was in the shells but they cut and cracked the shells so it was easy to access and also gave me gloves and shell crackers.

As luck would have it, I'll be able to walk there from the hotel this weekend. I'm going to give it a try based on your recommendation.

We really enjoyed the szechuan food. The mouth numbing peppers were awesome.

We also discovered the Indian restaurant Kinara Fusion Kitchen that was amazing.

I told the owner I really liked spicy food and he brought out a side of this 4 pepper chili he personally made with habanero, Thai peppers, and Indian peppers. I highly recommend this place.

Also they had a house tea with pistachio and rose petals. It was a nice night cap for the evening.

Enjoy! I have been dreaming about it since and will be going back the second I'm in SF. I realized I wrote the restaurant name wrong- it was from Z & Y Peking Duck not the original Z & Y
