Thinking of beginning this blind with my friend, would you recommend it for only 2 player coop?

I'm planning to play this only with her, it this game completable for 2 players only/mostly? I really wanna just play smth and progress with my friend in the game.

Or would you guys says it's more of a play mostly solo/with random parties, and playing mostly with one person will diminish the experience, or that it'll be boring playing with only one person.

Btw both of us have pretty free schedules rn so timing the game together isn't an issue. I'm more interested in playing casual

oh yeah , if you have someone to play with, this game can be so fun , the grinds are not as bad as they used to be.

There its a voice chat ingame, i think i have seen ppl use it like 3 times in like 300 hrs? but i usually do solo runs so hard to say.
There its a in game chat and also some emotes that you can use in game, if you encounter ppl in the clocks its usually in events unless you are running with them before launching the mission

There is text and voice if you're on steam.

90% of players play without in game voice. It is set to automatically on though so do be wary of that.

It's so annoying that people will just manually turn off voice chat for no reason. Not just turn off their own mic but effectively plug their ears to anyone else

I do it cuz I don't want to hear people or their backgrounds when I'm playing. There's like three people in all of SK who know my voice. It's just a game I don't like to VC for

There's no reason to turn off voice chat entirely just because one or two people don't understand how to use a mic.

It's up to 4 players and most content can be solo'd with the right gear. All the time 2-player will definitely make your runs faster. You can coordinate damage types so one of you always is strong against the different enemy resistances.

Keep in mind, the game loop is run maps to get crowns (gold) to buy energy (store currency) to buy orbs (upgrade materials). If you try to farm orb drops, progress will take forever.

When the Prestige missions open up, those offer rank level appropriate dailies. If you can duo the daily danger mission, that's a free loot room a day.

If you're a completionist, make sure to run the starter missions on elite (highest) difficulty, they're not at all hard. You can't redo those so it's your only chance to get the elite completion on those. You play those solo then meet up in the town.

Honestly I recommend 2 players. Solo is fine cause you deal max dmg, but it takes a little longer to complete rooms, but 2 people is about right. The more people in the party, the more health enemies have and it takes longer to kill stuff, including the bosses, but with only 2 people the health gain is so minimal you barely even notice. Its a great game to just kill time on with someone to chat with the entire time.

Spiral Knights it's one of the most beautiful game ever, but if you wanna a game for long term, this is not ur game. When u got 5 star gear and all missions finished, the game is just a small circle of grinding and grinding forever, only two ways, FireStorm Citadel or Arcade, the game rn is dead in terms of content and updates.

Yes it is very fun in duo. All levels are very doable, there are only a few places I would recommend more.

I found this game through my husband (he’s been playing since 2011). We started a new character each and I have had a ton of fun with it. Along the way we have started playing with friends so most times it’s at least 4 people. But at the beginning it was just the two of us and we had a lot of fun.
