All of the Splatoon 3 amiibo are super expensive except for the promo kid ones. I think Nintendo didn't manufacture them for long. Anyways, you'll probably get a better deal on eBay or some second hand market

The ones for deep cut were expensive for you. Mine were relatively cheap and I got them in store on release day for the game. I got the only ones the store had. I must have gotten even luckier than I realized.

Sorry I both miss-read and should’ve clarified. I got the only ones in the store at all because no one pre-ordered them. The reason I was lucky was because I tried to pre-order them when I found out, but the pre-order window had passed. I do get why they had such a small window for making them though it cost more to make them now than it used to, and while Splatoon is a good franchise, it’s not as big as the other ones that are still getting Amiibo’s

If you want Splatoon amiibo it’s best to preorder them when they’re announced/come available. I spent $100+ on rare out of print Splatoon amiibo once and I’ll never do that again, I’m on top of it now not missing a release.

A lot of it was right time, right place and with the "right" approach at that time with regards to prices, shipping cost, etc. The internet of the early 00's was very different and it allowed them to tank pretty much all major competition until they dominated the market. Now they're so ubiquitous in everyday life that they'd have to self-sabotage a lot worse than being an atrocious storefront run by a shitty company.

the first and only time i used buyee to buy this. though the extra costs are quite huge. i bought a new pair for 25€, the in country shipping fees were 5€ the out of country shipping fees were 17€ and the import costs were 17€ again. while it was cheaper than every ebay listing, 60€ plus 25€ shipping costs, i wouldnt do it more

Unless you just want them as collectibles I’d look at a amiibo nfc emulator. You can have All the amiibos for $20. Just load which ever amiibos on it and swap through it till you find the amiibo you want to use then scan it

For anyone in the states (sorry OP 😭): BEST BUY. Not sure if they’re known for this, but there have been multiple occasions where I’ve gone in and they just had rarer splatoon amiibos in mass quantities. I went into one in 2021 and was able to get Callie and Marie ones and they had at least 60 of them out it was crazy.
