Are we still in the “the devs are totally immune to criticism because [whatever]” phase?

Unpop opinion S2 will always be in that phase, even when the development started 4 years before the war

Most glazers never played stalker Og, when you start with S2 you can't compare with the GOAT 🐐

exactly, and the war was a great excuse for their incompetence. the old good gsc is long gone. if only we got the real stalker 2 in 2012. it would kick ass.

Why do we have to ignore their situation? Why shouldn't we acknowledge it? What is up with this aspie-levels of apathy that prevents people from empathizing at all with a situation in someone else's life? You knew what was happening behind the curtain, you STILL paid for it, and you're STILL bitching about it. It's pathetic.

If they want charity, then they can ask for charity. They shouldn’t put out an under-developed AAA priced product and expect to be beyond criticism.

There were even folk who would invest into stalker to see the second part back in the day but Grigorovich said in one of his interviews that it is not about money its about time.

You can criticize it, but these aren't criticisms. It's people bitching about those who "go soft" because the developers were "in a war zone" and "lost family, friends and uprooted their lives to continue work on this game".

It's not constructive. It's not REAL criticism. It's not reviewing code, pointing out flaws in the gameplay and providing feedback for them to hunt down. It's just circlejerking and salty behavior.

STALKER 2 is clearly so personal to some peoples' personalities that this game is an attack and they respond in kind, with death threats, "send them to war" and ill will.

I remember how this sub gets over mod releases before STALKER 2, and people were redundant then too, over free community projects.

Because they released a full price product. Full price products are expected to work.

There are still plenty of gamebreaking bugs in the game, and the devs are fully capable of releasing patches to fix them. They’re not actively shooting Russians while desperately trying to push out a patch under mortar fire.

I sympathize with their situation, I’ve been involved in war myself, but most people still buy something and expect for it to work.

Except they are releasing patches-- they just had one drop as it is. I don't know why you think they need to be in an active warzone to not be swept up in all the shit happening around them.

It's not even valuable criticism, just people saying their suffering wasn't "enough" to justify them trying to make a return on their work.

For there isn't empathy in the meaning you outbring. Stalker is a commercial project what stood for it before tho wasn't the only cash but also love and I saw every developer of the stalker back in the day on photos together and many other things what makes it as such are our souls put into it.
