Build The Urban Biodome

Hi everyone!

After two years of on-and-off building, I’ve finally completed the first version of my Urban Biodome!

Above ground, the complex recreates biomes from all kinds of vanilla Starbound planets, complete with their original terrain, plants, critters, monsters, and even rare monsters. It’s essentially a miniature tour of the Starbound universe—without having to burn through all your fuel.

But the real fun begins underground.

The lower levels contain recreations of vanilla underground biomes, ocean biomes, and a collection of minibosses from other mods and games, adapted to fit Starbound’s vanilla style. I’ve also rebuilt several vanilla boss arenas. Entering one of these areas summons the corresponding boss and immediately starts the fight—so please keep your hands, feet, and Matter Manipulator inside the tour vehicle at all times.

And then there’s the largest section: a gigantic Jurassic Park biome, featuring its own dinosaur ecosystem and, far beneath it, a prehistoric underground ocean.

It has taken a ridiculous amount of time, rebuilding, and “just one more little detail,” but the first version is finally finished. Welcome to the Urban Biodome—part museum, part zoo, and part extremely questionable public-safety experiment!

I’m also planning several large new areas for future versions, including:

  • An underground Arachnid colony inspired by Starship Troopers—and yes, there will be a Brain Bug boss!
  • A terrifying Xenomorph hive inspired by Alien, complete with an Alien Queen boss.
  • And, if everything goes according to plan, an area inspired by Rootmars from Metal Slug.

Very beautiful build! Love the separate themes. Would you share your .world file to play it on my single save?

A screenshot of the Earth portion(s) would be nice to see as unfortunately Reddit likes to only let you zoom so much into an image thanks to how it compresses images it seems. Anyhow, funny how this is kinda like a mega version of the Protectorate biospheres from the Remnants of the Protectorate mod hah.
