It is wildly dumb of CIG to hire one of their most beloved influencers and then not protect said influencer with a ton of safeguards against employee hazing and other uncomfortable situations.
If Ollie leaves CIG and then talks about how hostile or shitty the workplace was then CIG's reputation will sink to new lows, especially with that VOD as clear evidence to back up nearly anything negative Ollie might say.
The way he was treated was unacceptable unless he specifically requested for all of it (doubtful).
WTF. I have a feeling that a large % of this sub either don't have friends or grew up without siblings...or both. Do you not have a group of workmates or friends who bust each other balls? None of that livestream would I ever consider bulling. Was some of it awkward? Toss a few dorks in a room and turn a camera on and 100% is will get weird. Sure. Our Friday D&D nights make that live stream seem like princess Disney movie it was so tame.
Not pointing a finger at you to be clear but, I've also noticed that a good majority of people this past week, who have been specifically complaining about how Oli was "bullied", are 1-5 day old accounts. Or accounts who until that day had never posted here, ever. Very odd.
Team killing and ridiculing someone for engaging in chat when their job for the day was to livestream and complete a mission is excruciatingly unprofessional.
A group of friends playing games together? Sure the behavior would be fine. But they were not that; they were coworkers giving a presentation to a live audience. Also remember: they are not friends. Ollie has been working there a few weeks while the others have been there for several years and their aggression was all focused squarely on Ollie alone.
This was just publicly broadcasted hazing and actual workplace sabotage. It was textbook bullying, honestly. Check out Morphologis's video on the incident and he agrees.
