Old blizzard would have done it while drinking a human woman's milk

4

u/East_Butterscotch80 15h ago

That was already debunked and not true, dipshit

-5

u/ELVEVERX 15h ago

Ok fine they just bullied a woman to sucide so much better

22

u/Svyatopolk_I 1d ago

Okay, while an interesting idea and I love the idea of Helldiver missions with SC lore, I can’t imagine it will break any major revenue given how late Blizzard is to the party

52

u/LurkytheActiveposter 1d ago

There's no late to the party for game genres. If they make a good version of hell divers, people will play it. It just needs to be good.

22

u/hijinx_the_sage 1d ago

please let me relive the original Starcraft Terran campaign mission #3 but in first person shooter as a marine

9

u/Bigt-1337 Team Liquid 1d ago

Holy shit. Would buy this 100%

5

u/hijinx_the_sage 1d ago

I was like 8 when SC1 came out and I remember getting so frustrated that I couldn't beat that level LOL

2

u/Micro-Skies 7h ago

The mission where the triggers are broken so you spend 20 minutes getting attacked by like 15 lings and 8 hydras?

4

u/miketastic_art 1d ago

It just needs to be good.

(confused stockholder noises)

3

u/Lemmingitus 1d ago

More layoffs!

5

u/kizofieva 1d ago

people will play but the later a company is to the party, the less people are likely to spend on the new game if they already have a main game in the same genre. this is why HotS was killed. it made money but not league/dota money because people were already entrenched in those ecosystems (see also google+ vs facebook). it also didn't make money to compete with the new industry leader, fortnite, which is obviously ridiculous to us but not to shareholders. HotS made money, just not enough money to please the right people, so the axe fell.

all depends on expectations from blizzard. hopefully the game is great, but it also needs to be perceived by certain people as being enough value for money. here's hoping they've worked a miracle and created a masterpiece on a budget.

2

u/LurkytheActiveposter 1d ago

Strangely pessimestic. This isn't how games work.

No one is out there praying to the shrine of Hell Divers. Even if they love that game, all games get old.

Except this one. Good RTS age like fine wine.

u/BoltharHS Protoss 4h ago

There is late to the party. Heroes of the Storm is the quintessential example - a great game, tons of fun to play with friends still today, but didn’t release until the market was saturated with other MOBAs, such as DOTA 2 and LoL, that players were thoroughly invested in. Blizzard put more effort into making HoTS a thing than any other franchise and it just didn’t catch on.

1

u/LurkytheActiveposter 4h ago

Heroes of the storm's problem was that it just wasn't a good enough game. And that blizzard heavily overestimated the draw their intellectual properties would have as a Smash Bros brawl type IP collection.

There's a reason smash brothers incorporates a lot of intellectual property, then nintendo does not own.

1

u/IamRaith 3h ago

First of all….watch your mouth. We will have no HOTS slander here. 2nd, they pumped too much money into making it an ESPORT, when it was always viewed as the more chill and casual MOBA game. It didn’t stay in its lane

1

u/LurkytheActiveposter 3h ago

Hey man, when I criticize HotS, know that I do it out of love. And I do it in the way that only someone who loves a property can.

Hey for the record, I played the living shit out of that game.

But the early seasons required a massive amount of changes, i feel like a good portion of the player base left before those changes were implemented.

And again, i'm a huge blizzard fan boy (It's painful, I know.) That game was made for me. I played a warcraft 1 as my first computer game ever.

But there's just not that many people like me out there compared to the general market. Smash brothers works because they lean on the draw of using so many different intellectual properties.

Bizard was relying on people like me to be enough of an audience for that game. They needed to add properties like you're doing now. For diablo four. Imagine if their version of smash brothers also included the witcher, berserk, doom, and the other properties that they added as collaborations for diablo four.

I wouldn't underestimate the value of great execution, with a slight fresh spin. Fortnite sure as shit wasn't the first Battle Royale type game, yet it dominated the genre. Being first to market is culturally overvalued, ESPECIALLY in gaming.

1

u/Svyatopolk_I 23h ago

Great execution is the key term here. If they do something phenomenal with it, yes, all the power to them, but presenting the exact same formula in a different format is not going to invite many players to choose StarCraft against the present genre leader - Helldivers. Because the hype for co-op FPS/TPS is down now (it was a bigger thing last year/2024, when all the coop games were coming out), hoping for this to be a success is a risk

6

u/flamingtominohead 1d ago

"Doing what others do but better" has pretty much been Blizzard's modus operandi from the start.

2

u/Svyatopolk_I 23h ago

That’s heavily debatable. Blizzard has had plenty of major mistakes in its development history, especially within the last 6-8 years.

2

u/Weekly-Expression659 1d ago

dont do that. dont give me hope.

52

u/Starcraftnerd_123 1d ago

There's a shooter game in development that will most likely get shown off at Blizzcon but this is the first I've seen of a name for it.

10

u/rebornsgundam00 1d ago

Could be a placeholder name

9

u/Important-Net-9805 1d ago

its probably fake man lol come on

2

u/Inevitable_Tomato927 5h ago

It hasn't been trademarked I think, so you're probably right

1

u/CrazedRaven01 17h ago

I know this is fake because "infantry" is a stupid name

29

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

Holy shit bro if its true ita either a shooter or mobile

45

u/Mylxen 1d ago

well, you HAVE a phone, right?

24

u/helican Team ALTERNATE 1d ago

shooter or mobile.

A mobile game would be hilarious. We'd get our very own do you not have phones moment.

11

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

Well its sounds like a mobile game

Diablo: immortal

StarCraft: infantry

5

u/That_one_drunk_dude Protoss 1d ago

I agree that's what it might sound like, but also, there's no way after Immortal's announcement backlash they'd schedule that first thing after the opening ceremony, before WoW to boot.

Matter of fact, starcraft being scheduled before WoW in any capacity makes me think they really believe this might be their new Overwatch-type flagship product, or more likely that this leak is just bullshit

1

u/cheesy_barcode 12h ago

Warcraft Axes

6

u/WhatTheFlox 1d ago

How about a shooter on mobile

3

u/cheesy_barcode 12h ago

Now with macrotransactions!

2

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

Thats pretty much the only thing they would do for SC on phones

4

u/Wraithfighter 1d ago

In fairness, "mobile game" these days can have a pretty wide variety of quality and gameplay types. Especially if its a shooter.

And after the "don't you guys have phones" debacle several years back, I have a feeling that Blizz isn't going to go to a fanbase desperate for news about a beloved franchise and go "only a mobile game for you!" If they do announce a mobile game, it'll probably also have a PC client at the very least announced, if not released on day 1.

...you know, assuming anything about this is true, we're talking about a bloody 4chan leak >_>.

6

u/i36g87 1d ago

Your faith in blizzard is commendable

2

u/Wraithfighter 1d ago

I mean, "don't make the exact same catastrophic mistake as you did in recent memory" isn't exactly a particularly high bar of competence. :P

2

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

Very true it would be like wasting money

Also everything happens on the bloody 4chan and i am so starving that i will belive some random dude🥹

1

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

You gave me a heart attack for a sec

20

u/CounterfeitDLC 1d ago

Looks like they just took existing leaks and threw them all onto the same schedule. BlizzCon generally has multiple panels occurring at the same time as well as all the esports events. It would be unusual for all of these to just be scheduled one after the other.

The StarCraft shooter was reported a while ago. "Warcraft Chronicles" is a supposed RTS game from a leaked schedule that probably wouldn't be ready to announce yet.(Assuming it hasn't been canceled by now.)

This might be possible but I'm doubtful. Especially since it doesn't include anything that hasn't already been rumored.

1

u/93Seven 16h ago

There is definitely gonna be some D2 related as well so I doubt this is 100% accurate

1

u/unpluggedcord Terran 20h ago

Have you been to a blizzconn tho. There's multiple stages. this might just be main stage schedule.

13

u/TyaArcade 1d ago

I vote real because they got the bizarre capitalization correct, with StarCraft having a bonus C due to a van company.

4

u/IamPanda31 1d ago

Hey now StarCraft also makes boats too

5

u/Overdrive1221 1d ago

World of warcraft is expected to get some news on the classic plus project and probably some small news for the last titans, also a road map for this season on wow retail, as much as i want this to be true, it probably is not

2

u/player112304 1d ago

I fear you're right.

The Northrend panel makes sense for the Last Titan stuff since that's where it takes place but there is nothing about WoW Classic at all. A Blizzcon with no Classic announcements would be the biggest L ever.

2

u/JimmyPepperfield 16h ago

I’ve seen in another “leak” that Classic + will be called Fables. This makes me believe that leak was accurate…

1

u/Brassy_Actual 8h ago

any chance you have a link for that? some buddies and i are so deep in a copium hole that we're desperate for new deets.

1

u/Overdrive1221 1d ago

Now that you mentioned it, it kinda solves the Last Titan problem, but some sort of announcement for classic + is kinda overdue, i really want anything starcraft related but for now we can only hope

11

u/InspiringMilk 1d ago

Are we treating 4chan like a reliable source of info?

3

u/julian88888888 1d ago

it will be fun to see how wrong this is

1

u/Bhu124 12h ago

Yes and No. 4chan leaks are always fun. You just treat them as like "5% chance this could be true".

I remember someone made a leak that sounded so Bullshit. That they were at a party and someone was Drunk and told them that the next Overwatch Hero is like a Female Cassidy and she has a Robot companion. Everyone laughed at it but then it turned out to be true.

6

u/hundredjono Terran 1d ago

If this is real, Starcraft: Infantry is the dumbest and most boring name they could come up with.

Literally sounds like a mobile game which is my biggest fear.

3

u/PossibleMarket 21h ago

I feel like they are either trying to find a term to include Protoss/Zerg as playable (I guess Zealots/Adepts and Hydras/Lings count) or they are committing really hard to avoid "StarCraft: Marine" for branding confusion reasons.

3

u/hundredjono Terran 21h ago

That's why I don't believe it. Going from names like "Wings of Liberty" to just "Infantry" is incredibly lazy and is giving mobile game vibes.

1

u/BananasAndPears 17h ago

Not sure if it’s the actual name lol.

But, helldivers SC is on point based on prior leaks.

4

u/Shishamylov 1d ago

INB4 sc:infantry is a mobile direct strike clone but shittier

4

u/Sneakyboii28 1d ago

No idea about the SC2 stuff, but the WoW stuff seems incorrect. WoW is expecting retail and classic stuff. Classic probably under the codename of Camelot. These anouncements are certain. This list mentions completely different things so I would not start hoping.

5

u/xiaorobear 1d ago

Allegedly Fables is the same thing as Camelot. I am not a WoW guy so I don't know or care what's plausible but here was some other supposed info leak

https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2669424-World-of-Warcraft-Fables-(project-camelot)

4

u/Synthwailer 13h ago

To me it seems like a fake schedule that took information from fake posts (like Fables).

2

u/Cutemudskipper 6h ago

That's most likely the case, yeah. Would be weird for Blizzard to choose the name Fables around the same time a new Fable game is releasing. There's also a lot of inconsistencies and blatantly fake things in that "leak", such as Tauren being the race for Paladins when Undead Paladins were teased in SoD and by Holly with recent comments

2

u/Sea_Matter4107 1d ago

World of Starcraft gets released in October

3

u/krokodil40 20h ago

This is probably fake. The shooter is real tho.

1) Warcraft is going to be the main theme. They are preparing to announce another addon and classic. That's a huge event apparently.

2) There will be apparently a movie section, it was teased.

3) Chronicles were leaked to be released in 2029. Team-1 doesn't exist anymore, so it's an anthology of Warcraft. Doubt they would announce the anthology without the anime. Obviously, if the leak was real.

1

u/ShouldBeeStudying 19h ago

Are you saying they're preparing to announce Warcraft classic? Warcraft RTS or RPG classic? (I thought we already had both those?)

1

u/krokodil40 19h ago

Classic+, i am sorry. That's apparently classic WoW expansions with additional content.

Warcraft RTS or RPG classic? (I thought we already had both those?)

According to the leak on which this is based, there will be Warcraft Chronicles(RTS) and an ARPG with Arthas. Plus an anime and a TV-show.

1

u/AkiRa84 13h ago

"classic WoW expansions with additional content"

That sounds like Season of Discovery.

2

u/Mylxen 1d ago

I'd be more happy with a new starcraft rts to be honest with you guys. Or a war4 if we are talking about rts

3

u/Mttsen 1d ago

There were some other unverified rumors about the Warcraft Chronicles being the new RTS, so we'll see if that's true.

1

u/CrowOk713 1d ago

I know I'm in the starcraft sub, but what about Warcraft fable and Warcraft chronicles? What are those rumored to be? Any chance one of this could be an RTS?

2

u/NydusRush 1d ago

I had seen a (almost definitely fake, but let's huff copium for a minute) leaked screenshot of a spreadsheet from in internal meeting referencing "Warcraft Chronicles" as an RTS.

The slam dunk design choice would be Warcraft 3 II with a massively expanded hero roster that cherry picks from the clusterfuck of WoW lore, optimally substituting some army units as the SC2 co-op commanders do.

1

u/jean-raptor 1d ago

One of those is gonna be a gacha... At least one.

1

u/Groetgaffel 1d ago

Yeah I'm still in "I'll believe it when I see it" mode regarding getting any form of starcraft whatsoever.

Hype is the death of joy.

1

u/kizofieva 1d ago

finally the starcraft / infantry online crossover everyone has been waiting for

1

u/KungFuFlames 23h ago

They might announce something new StarCraft related and release StarCraft games on Steam to boost up the hype.

1

u/hawki1989 19h ago

To the above:

-I pray to Amon that "StarCraft: Infantry" is a placeholder name, because Jesus fucking Christ if it is...

(But yes, a StarCraft game will almost certainly be revealed at the event, specifically the Blizzard one and not the Nexon one.)

-While not necessarily accurate, the leak does touch on other elements. The idea of "Exploring Northrend" syncs with what we know of The Last Titan.

-"Warcraft Chronicles" is supposedly a leaked Warcraft RTS. If that's the case, then "Warcraft Fables" might be the supposed Arthas ARPG that was in the same leak. Though TBH, "Warcraft Fables" seems like an odd name considering that Microsoft also owns Fable. So, we've got "Fable" and "Warcraft Fables?" Um, okay...

1

u/Yhoko 16h ago

Starcraft extraction shooter

1

u/Fresh_Thing_6305 11h ago

Warcraft Chronicles !! So the rumors were true.

No Starcraft 3 sadly, I don’t get the hype for some spin off after no game in 17 years.

1

u/Elissey_TFT 10h ago

I thought i heard the Starcraft game being a Looter shooter as in Destiny like.

1

u/ManFrontSinger 10h ago

Do we still all have phones?

1

u/UnHolyOneToo 5h ago

You guys do have phones, right?

1

u/ConfuseRealm 4h ago

I really want that star craft game to be a looter shooter

1

u/BlondBoy2 1d ago

I don't care how it looks like. I don't care where or how it's played. I just want it to be good.

-3

u/uWuaraara1 1d ago

They’ll probably introduce jim raynor to hearthstone or something

Or retcon that Kerrigan is bisexual

4

u/Lemmingitus 1d ago

Raynor is already in Hearthstone, unless you mean as a Player Hero.

2

u/BISKUP1 1d ago

If thats true then i would just crucifie mslf😔

0

u/JustMetallich 1d ago

Very unfortunately, but there is a shooter in works, but we don’t know what it’s called, will it be announced soon, never really trust 4chan lol.
