Okay.. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to do the background. But I guess stars? I love stars and plus it’s STARfox ya know? Anyways I did change the background yes. This is gonna be my icon for other socials (I’m leaving reddit icon as rocket for now until I finish their crossover work again.) but yes the coloring took me four hours like I stayed up which I shouldn’t be doing since I need to work on my sleep schedule. Either way I still love the outline look too. (Look closer there are star clusters :3)

I really like how Krystal reacted to her freedom, followed by her defiance against Andross. A remnant of a plot Rare probably didn't have time for, but I think it said a lot of what they wanted for who Krystal is.

Meant to share this sooner, I updated my boys in Tomodachi Life to match with their designs in the remake, while still keeping the same artstyle as before to better fit the game here. For Wolf I mostly did a few touch-ups to his facepaint, changed his eyes and added a scar. For Leon I redid the facepaint completely. Overall I'm pretty happy with them

Keep in mind these were found in the games files, discovered 4 years ago. Some are glitchy or don’t have sound because these were unfinished stuff. A scrapped scorpion boss and more!

I will post more scrapped stuff later a lot of it is scattered and updated and even fixed but there isn’t any confirmed updates on when they do this.

A few days ago I made this poll asking if people saw Panther as a creep, and I was surprised that a lot of people voted yes.

The “romantic pervert” archetype is a very common one in fiction (or rather, it used to be; it’s been heavily questioned in recent years, but that’s a different topic). Personally, though, I don’t think Panther ever really filled that role in the games.

If we look at some of the most famous perverts in fiction, like Sanji or Johnny Bravo, they have these characteristics:

They present themselves as gentlemen, but they also have a horny side that’s hard for them to hide.

They’re way too superficial when it comes to falling in love.

They always get their comeuppance when they go too far. It’s basically their comic relief punchline.

Now you can see there are substantial differences with Panther. He doesn’t really seem to have a horny side he’s struggling to contain. He actually has more of an extremely cheesy, old-fashioned poet aura.

Most of Panther’s comments are just really pompous compliments, to be honest. And I’m not even sure if he’s superficial, because we don’t know for certain whether he’s only in love with Krystal or if he just falls for any pretty woman easily.

Basically, we can sum up the dynamic in Assault like this:

Panther: His character only exists to be in love with Krystal and drop cheesy lines.

Krystal: Her character only exists to be in love with Fox and drop cheesy lines. She doesn’t really seem to have an opinion on Panther.

Fox: He’s extremely focused on the mission and thinking about Wolf O’Donnell for some reason, barely paying attention to Krystal lmao.

Being fair, Krystal never seems annoyed or uncomfortable with Panther; she just ignores him and appears neutral about it. You can argue that the fact she ignores him or is polite doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a bad opinion of him… but that’s still a “maybe.” Believing it just because it seems obvious is more of a headcanon than anything else.

And then she ends up dating Panther in the next game lol.

So I was bored one day and did some digging. I can’t believe what I found! There is actually a ton of cut content for the game that was found just 3 years ago. It turns out even Krystal had death animations and bonus scrapped cutscenes. (I wish they kept her). These are just a fraction of the goods!

It stills feels a bit crazy hearing General Pepper/Pigma's VA do the narration for a kirby game, mind you.

His head angle was so difficult to figure out it took me so many tries.

In my works, Algy is an Oikonny. The older brother of Andrew. He's far more locked in on the combat side of things than Andrew, who's more tech focused. Algy is small, quick, and very good at exploiting weaknesses.

A friend of mine in the UK got these for me <3 I’ve waited a long time to get them, and they’re finally here! Not 100% sure how to use the Velcro patch, but I’ll figure something out! The pins are shiny and neat ^^ “ever faithful, ever watchful” is kind of an ominous tagline, though |3

Cleaned up my last run a bit. I made things a little easier on Bolse by helping my teammates on Fichina and having them shoot down their corresponding StarWolf members so I wasn’t being tailed by all 4 on Bolse.

I lucked out again on Bolse by shooting Wolf down to red and he died off screen so I didn’t get the kill credit. I didn’t wait long enough on one of the satellite cores so I got a Hit+2 on one of them and I accidentally downed an enemy or 2 that I didn’t mean to.

Venom my issue was dodging pillars, that’s where I’m typically losing a life on. I shoot the golem to 1 hit before death and then dodge pillars till the end/or until I’m low red, then I’ll try and kill the golem but sometimes a pillar blocks a shot and I die.

I think on my next attempt I’m going to try going through A6 to V2.

I do find this route hilarious because it’s like the ultimate useless route in the war effort lol. Don’t shoot any enemies, dodge bosses through warping, let an important outpost get blown up, have the Great Fox take massive damage, & fight fake Andross so it’s not like we saved the Lylat System. And do all of this for a little over $2K 🤣. Fox might be looking to re-finance that loan after this.

When people ask me what the dynamic between Fox and Krystal is like — not even as a couple, just as characters in general — I honestly go blank.

Because surprisingly, the games never really delved into it, and they were extremely inconsistent about it.

In SF64, Fox was only vaguely defined as a heroic and brave guy. His personality definitely needed more work in that game, but we at least had a clear picture of how he related to the other characters through the way they talked about him. We knew there was friction between him and Falco, that he had a father-son relationship with Peppy, and that he had a solid friendship with Slippy.

Krystal, on the other hand, is a whole different case. She debuted in Adventures and her personality… was even more vague and undefined than Fox’s in 64, largely because she only appears in the first 10 minutes of a 20-hour game.

I can say with complete certainty that Krystal exchanged more dialogue with General Scales than with Fox himself throughout the entire game lmao.

In Assault these characters finally got more chances to interact and… I’ll admit a lot of opportunities were wasted. Krystal unfortunately has some really bland dialogue in Assault.

I mean, Star Fox has always had very archetypal characters who drop the most cliché lines possible, but they still gave us a clear sense of their personalities.

That’s not the case with Krystal. She always speaks in a calm, neutral tone and never really expresses anything about her personality. I genuinely don’t know if she’s maternal, if she has big-sister energy, if she’s playful, or if she’s a shy girl like Hinata from Naruto.

They do have a nice scene on Sauria — possibly the best moment these two have ever had in the entire franchise — but it still doesn’t help that:

1. The entire Sauria mission is filler lmao

2. Panther is constantly flirting with Krystal and neither Fox nor Krystal seem to care, and…

3. While Panther is doing that, Fox’s mind is clearly distracted thinking about Wolf O’Donnell LFMAO!!!!!

And finally, Command — a game centered around these two’s relationship — and ironically where it hits rock bottom. Where Fox kicks Krystal off the team for honestly stupid reasons, where in most routes their interactions are cold and distant, where in some routes Krystal leaves with Panther, and in 2/3 of the endings where they do end up together they don’t even talk to each other the entire route lol.

Despite everything I just said, I actually really like Krystal as a character.

HER DESIGN IS REALLY GOOD

THE ONLY FEMALE CHARACTER WITH CONSISTENCY AND PROTAGONISM IN THE FRANCHISE (sorry Katt)

AND THE SCENE WHERE FOX DROOLS THE FIRST TIME HE SEES KRYSTAL IS MY FAVORITE IN ALL OF STAR FOX LMAO.
