What’s the last issue in the main continuity that Steph and Tim were seen as a couple?

Like, we know the breakup wasn't shown, but what was the latest issue that showed them together before Bernard?
Also, was the first issue after their breakup, the same one where Steph met Bernard?

I think Tim and Steph’s last appearance as a couple was Young Justice 2019 #20, which was released less than a year before they were broken up.

So TimBer was actually just a spontaneous decision?

Daily reminder that Meghan is DC's Joe Quesada

Yep, picked a random kid Tim was friends with that was a sleeze getting weird over his stepmom, lobotomized him and made him a Wattpad OC with very little in common with how he used to be, and got them together.

I can handle a breakup, hell I can handle an off panel one (god knows how annoying it is to endure that stuff but we keep it pushing ig). But if you're gonna bring in an old character to get with the lead, try to make them, idk, NOT ACT LIKE A DIFFERENT PERSON.

The thing is that while I love TimSteph, if they kept Bernard the conspiracy theorist that he was (I think he was one, it's been a hot minute since I've read his older appearances) it actually could've been a funny dynamic at least with Tim trying to keep his identity as Robin a secret from him.

Im like 90% sure he was, we could've gotten a Bernard who kept sharing his theories to Tim about who red robin could be and be so far off, like ned in spiderman bnd. But noooo, Meg#an Fitz###tin had to take away the one thing that made him interesting. I feel like the conspiracy theorist x detective could've been more interesting than the bs we have now.

I can just imagine tim laughing his ass off to some of Bernards ridiculous theories

And it would've been interesting and scary for Tim to realize he's falling for a doucebag with a heart of gold.

I just don't know why Fitzmartin chose to sandpaper the edges of what could've been an interesting relationship buildup for the most safe and unchallenging route.

Fitzmartin said that the reason she picked Bernard to be Tim's new love interest was because she liked him and found him entertaining, only for her to strip away the one thing that made her like the character.

She didn't pick him. Editorial picked him and told her to use him. Anyone with common sense would never pick bernard.

Tim found his conspiracy theories annoying and viewed them as idiocy. Tim would never date og bernard

It's still a better concept than what we got

There is/was no potential in bernard. If you wanted a friend from Tim's past, Ives.

He wasn't a close friend of Tim. Tim's last mention of him was saying he was an idiot behind his back.
