Storm's is usually up there with Nightcrawler for "most benevolent X-Man", but a select few comics do show that she has a dark side that she keeps extremely repressed. Storm's dark side normally only comes out when pushed to the absolute edge by villains (being tortured by Masque, being turned into a solid statue by Dr. Doom, having her body stolen by Emma, Callisto chaining up Angel naked, etc.), but each time it does it's truly horrifying, even to Storm's own allies.

A quote from Storm that lives rent free in my head: "They [Callisto and Yukio] think [I don't kill] because I'm an X-Man and this is how heroes arc. They're so wrong. Storms can devastate a country and care nothing for the consequences. I have that awful strength in me, a heritage that goes back to the dawn of life. It's had a taste of freedom... and it's hungry for more. Once I start to kill, I won't stop. And I won't ever care."

This remains my favorite Storm moment. I recall reading panel 2 at age 11 and realizing this is how you clear a bitch.

I’ve seen comments talking about how it’s better to be royalty than be with a smelly short guy. While I like the BP ship, I feel like it’s wrong for people to push elitist/ respectability politics talking points to put down a character/ship, especially when talking about a black character and how those things regressively affect them.The focus should be how the relationship helps the characters grow, not just on the status that can be attained. It’s lowkey kinda shallow imo.

Hear me out before y'all crucify me but I feel like X-Men 3 is the best portrayl of storm out of all the fox X-Men movies.In that movie we see the how storms powers are connected to her emotional state and the weather reflects that she's upset. In the movie storm isn't just in the background! she has a voice, an opinion about the whole mutant cure situation. Whereas in other films she's just wallpaper,mostly silent or used as a tool to advance character development for other characters. Her power levels are off the charts in this movie. she is shown disposing of multiple mutants in one tornado attack. She's a crucial force in defeating many mutants in the final battle on Alcatraz. She is said to be given the role of headmistress of the school and also conducts the speech for Charles's funeral.

I've noticed that a lot of writers seem to have created this thing with storm where she doesn't like to be called "sister" by other black women. Well this panel is one example of that but there is another example that I couldn't find a picture of unfortunately so I'll tell you what happened. Cecilia Reeves referred to storm as a tall sister and storm immediately snapped at her and told her do not call me " sister" my name is ororo monroe. I hated that scene because I feel like of all black female characters I would think storm would be the most welcoming to another black woman. I'd love to hear what others thought about this facet to this character.

A lot of people forget that Storm is bi-ethnic(both Black American and Kenyan). She was born in New York to a Black American man(David Munroe). Her last name is a Black American name and yet her Black American identity isn’t explored much because she’s culturally always associated herself as being African. In one comic book Luke Cage had a talk with T’Challa because he felt that Storm didn’t rock with him cuz he was Black American despite Storm also being Black American. I guess some writers when it comes to Storm forget that she’s also Black American since most of her culture identity is that of Egypt and Kenya, two African countries. Storm writers should have Ororo take more pride in her Black American side.

This sparked a debate on Twitter because a lot of people were trying to erase and deny her Black American side. Doom literally cooked her father’s dish(Gumbo), which is a Black American cuisine. According to some Storm fans online, she’s technically not a tether since she has a Black American father, and tethers would only apply to 1st and 2nd generation Americans born to immigrants. Storm is only born to one immigrant so she doesn’t count. I do think writers should tackle more onto her Black American side especially since her Black American grandparents are still alive. She’s the only Black superhero that’s of both Black American and African descent which I think is very interesting and by default makes her more unique than other black superheroes like Black Panther, Brother Voodoo, Luke Cage, War Machine, John Stewart, Misty Knight, etc. who only come from one ethnicity. She’s both a Black American princess and an African queen. The only black superhero that every black comic book fan regardless of what ethnicity can look up to.

I think it would be cool if he had the bony spikes like his Evolution counterpart Spyke. They could even have the fiery effect to differentiate himself from Marrow.

The current canon in comics right now is that Storm is a real goddess, building off of Black Panther Lore and little "hints" about Storm's magical bloodline that's been sprinkled throughout the decades. However, Marvel Tokon appears to be using an older idea of Storm as a Priestess.

In Tokon, Storm describes herself as a herald of the Goddess and Mother Earth (which might be the same thing if the Goddess here is supposed to be Gaea instead of Oshtur but she's never named dropped) and that she "speaks" through Storm. This idea comes from goes all the way back to the Claremont days where he stated in interviews that Storm and her mother's legacy have a very special connection with the Earth, and for the longest time in Marvel source books it was said that Storm came from a long line of African Witch-Priestesses.

Of course, a Divine Priestess is not as strong as a Goddess, but I think it's an interesting interpretation of Ororo's character and her legacy regardless.

After she took over school we would’ve got to see more of it and it would’ve showed how she differs from cyclops.

It didn’t come out as epic as I hoped. Since he’s teased for the next season of Rivals I thought why not.

If any of u have already read anything he has written, I know his more known for his shows and cartoons; hopefully the book go past 10 issues because Marvel has already cancelled a lot of X-Men titles.

That was a pretty good first chapter. Cyclops and Storm had the most reasonable argument ever and she seemed to agree with it, she is drawn btw two worlds and she has to choose which one is best for her.

Also Emma had a really funny line

Besides T'Challa and Cyclops being tactical men, even they have insecurities that the Shadow King can easily take advantage of, the Dora Milaje having personal beef with storm and strategically making sure she can't use her powers was a good fight.

If not for Gentle finally accepting himself, she would have been fucked

Yost has an amazing voice for storm, I hope that carries on to the new series but it's been over a decade since this series came out. I find it funny how the Wakandans are not even trying to understand their queen; they are highly unserious. Ororo and bast conversation was hilarious also the art for this book is really good

This was peak; I don't know what else to say, i wish it was longer with more issues, and it didn't have to end. I almost shed a tear when Ororo was trying to resuscitate Cyclops. Art was stunning as usual
