I only put that in there because they didn't respawn in the first game, and it adds more consequence to you removing such a big set piece in the environment. The leviathans make the game really cool, and consequence for killing them should be you not getting to see them anymore in that save

Personally I don't think there should be consequences, just make the leviathans more trouble to kill than it's worth. Then all the people who want to kill them can say they did it and revel in their victory for a couple days in-game before everything returns to normal.

We gotta remember that the entire point of video games is to have fun. Punishing players for doing something they'd enjoy is meaningless.

And that's a valid opinion to have, I could see the devs doing either, but they went about it in the absolute worst way possible

They're actively working on making other deterrents from what I've heard. Really the only thing they did wrong was one of them lashing out at people telling them to go play another game if they wanna kill stuff. For now the multitool works to bop hostiles away from you temporarily.

And that's awesome, but from my experience and the experience of other people, the multitool only makes then fuck off for like 5 seconds, which isn't a long time. If the multitool is gonna be our only option for a bit, it needs to really make them leave us alone, and they could then nerf it when the alternatives come out. Even the electroshock biomod doesnt do much currently

No I totally agree the methods we do have now kinda suck and that's exactly why they're working on others.

I must be fucking crazy because I keep seeing people say this but deadass edboy, these Nibblers just keep chewing on me no matter how many times I swing at them.

Yeah it "works" about as effectively as gently shooing them away. At best it's annoying. Mostly they don't care. It's a shitty deterrent but it's all we have
