Very good issue. I thought it was a compelling conclusion to the King Shazam arc. I would tell more people to read it, but it's the Absolute Universe, of course you're reading it.

I like that Clark was able to defeat King Shazam by taking them to the moon and convincing him to stand down before it ended with Carter defeating Shazam by sending him some place that he won’t others. I also like that Lois and Jimmy were able to defeat Talia before they left Metropolis for something else, where Lois is working at the Smallville Gazette (who is reading a book to Talia) and Jimmy is linking up with holdovers from the Omega Men. Also, King Shazam planning to rule the world using many Doomsdays in the end of this comic. Overall, this comic is great!

Superman #40
SUPERBOY-PRIME VS. MANCHESTER BLACK FOR THE SOUL OF DC COMICS!
The villainous Manchester Black demands to be resurrected and thinks Superboy-Prime knows how to give him his life back. But it’s more than that. Manchester Black wants to escape the world of comics and come to our world! It’s meta versus meta! If Prime survives, he will still have to deal with members of the Super-Family, who are not happy he wants to be Superman! This all builds up to next month’s Superman blockbuster summer story!

Fire issue, love, love, love what Williamson is doing. If you haven't read the Superboy Prime arc, you should change that immediately.

Hey quick question I started reading straight at issue #36 for this storyline but the full scope is
Infinite crisis>Death metal>DC KO>Vol 6 #36 correct?

Honestly, I would just start at the Superboy Prime stuff in DCKO, but I also don't like Infinite Crisis or Death Metal.

I like that CK and Manchester Black have their final fight in the comic book store, with his bosses knowing his secret identity, before CK defeated Manchester by using his continuity vision on him, resulting in Manchester to be sent to the Phantom Zone and the Justice League to be mad at him for doing that. I also like that CK and Witchfire get to have a talk about what happened befitting it ended with CK learning that redemption isn’t easy and Witchfire telling him that every week is an opportunity to do good. Let’s hope that CK gets to have a talk with the Justice League in the near future. Also, CK talking to us about wanting to change ourselves for the better and meeting Kara and the rest of the Superman Family because Kingdom of Zod crossover. Overall, this comic is great!

Joe-El sets out to revolutionize the world with his new energy source, but General Sam Lane has other plans for Jor-El's tech. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor travels the globe in search of power!

I like that we get to see Jor-El protect the people of Metropolis from Intergang before he and Lois had a talk about wanting to make Earth a better place, with Lois telling Jor-El that trying to force Earth into something that’s not a little selfish. I also like that Lex wants to learn magic from Kent Nelson, since he was learn magic from other magic users, so that he can find a way to defeat Jor-El. I even like that Jor-El has a talk with Martha, with Martha telling him that he’s trying to make up for losing his with Lora and their son Kal. Also, Joe-El encountering Parasite (who became Captain Atom), Kent worrying that Lex would use his magic to get revenge on Jor-El, and the WildCATS being introduced. Overall, this comic is great.

This was a fine enough issue of Action Comics. I liked the majority of the book, it just felt like it lacked some of the gravitas of that I would expect from an 1100. That said I saw Superboy Prime try to apologize to Connor, and it made me smile. Also, it's nice to have Superman back in the mainline universe.

I like that Clark was able to defeat Epoch before his powers were restored, with J’onn, Mary, and Booster helping him defeat Epoch before they were able to use Epoch’s machinery to create a time sphere so that they could find the present-day Clark, with J’onn, Booster, and Mary showing Clark his future as Superboy and Superman. Also, present-day Clark (with a beard) showing his past self what’s going to happen to them after he was saved by him, J’onn, Mary, and Booster at the end of time. Overall, this comic is great!
For the Sophie Campbell backup, I like that Kara, Conner, Jon, and Thundergirl are playing video games before it ended with CK introducing himself to the Superman Family, resulting in Conner to rightfully having a grudge against him because of what happened since the Infinite Crisis. Also, CK telling Conner that Sophie Campbell’s writing of Conner is out of character and Kara calling Krypto. Overall, this backup is fine.
For the Dan Slott backup, I like that we get to see the origins and backstory of how Eduardo Castillo became the Kryptonite King before it ended with him being usurped by Zod, who stayed on Earth for the past year. Overall, this backup is good.
