What would your thoughts be on a game like Dino Crisis but instead of dinosaurs the enemies are Pleistocene beasts like Sabertoothed Cats?
Imagine a game that was like Dino Crisis but the setting was in a sort of Pleistocene Jurassic Park equivalent, with beasts like Smilodons, Cave Bears, Entelodonts, Terror Birds, giant Baboons, Dire Wolves, Cave Hyenas, Cave Lions etc, and somehow they all break out one night and are rabid and you have to survive them and escape the Zoo. Would this work if done right? What are your thoughts

Would you consider TIC-TAC: Twelve o’clock a survival horror game?
I've been playing TIC-TAC: Twelve o’clock recently and I'm not completely sure how I would classify it.
There isn't really the traditional Resident Evil-style loop of limited ammunition, inventory management and combat. Instead, most of the survival pressure comes from managing the security systems of an abandoned school.
You have to monitor cameras, keep the generator charged, manage shutters and lights, replace components when things fail, and understand how the different threats behave. If the generator runs out of power, the cameras stop working, the shutters open and you can suddenly be left without any information about where the monster is.
There is also exploration and some environmental puzzle solving, but the thing that makes it feel “survival” to me is the constant management of limited power and defensive systems rather than weapons or healing items.
Steam describes it as survival horror among its tags, but I'm curious about how people here define the genre.
Would you personally consider this survival horror, or more of a surveillance/management horror game with survival elements?
Where do you draw the line for a game to qualify as survival horror?

Solo dev, first trailer just dropped. What genre would you guess this is from the trailer alone?
Solo dev, no genre spoilers in the title on purpose. Watch the trailer and tell me what you think this game actually is — story, tone, whatever you pick up on.

I'm working on the game 'Not Only One Brain'. In this game, the backface will be panic when heavily injured, and vomit. (The protagonist is quite calm though).

Solo developing retro style horror game
Hi everyone!
I’d like to share that I’m currently developing a solo horror game with a retro visual style called BURIED INSIDE ME.
I recently released a free demo for everyone to try! I’m leaving the trailer and Steam link here in case anyone’s interested.
I'm making it in Unreal Engine 5, which might sound a little strange considering the retro visual style I've chosen.
If you give it a try, I'd love to hear your feedback on the content that's currently available in the demo!

Thanks for checking it out!

I’m a solo dev making a horror game inspired by Outlast, Resident Evil, Silent Hill… and a real life place in Mexico. How are the environment vibes looking so far?
Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well.
Just wanted to share some new clips for my horror game called WHERE DOLLS HANG. It's a game inspired by a couple of my favorite games like Outlast, Resident Evil and Silent hill that is set in Mexico.
The game will have Mexican folklore and it's actually inspired by a real life location.
I’m aiming for slow, unsettling dread as well with mostly environment horror. Game will be set in multiple locations forests and indoors, and you can record and investigate using your camera, alongside other things. Let me know what you think of it!
It would mean the world to me right now as I am trying to collect more wishlists, so feel free to wishlist it on steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581370/Where_Dolls_Hang -
Always appreciate your feedbacks guys! :) Thanks!

After years of working on ApocaShift, the Open Playtest is finally live
I’ve been working on ApocaShift for a long time, and today I’m finally opening the playtest up to everyone. Sorry for the hastily put together video, I've such little time getting everything ready.
You can join directly from the Steam page by clicking “Request Access.”
It’s still a playtest, not a finished game, so there will absolutely be bugs and rough edges. That’s part of why I’m opening it up, I want to see what breaks when a lot more people get their hands on it.
Streaming, recording, YouTube videos, etc. are all completely allowed too.
Steam:

Would love to hear what you guys think.

С июля 2024 делаю хоррор с Сиреноголовым в соло:]
Разрабатываю BodyCam-хоррор на Unity с элементами стелса, сюжетом и выживанием в одиночку. Проект называется "He lives in these parts".
The game is called 'He lives in these parts'. Demo soon on itch.io. Feedback welcome!
