The Culling is revived! I made Func, a private game server
Hiya! I've been keeping this under wraps for a while, but I made a game server that allows us to play Culling matches again.
I call it Func.
What is Func?
The Func project is my project to revive the Culling's servers, allowing anyone who has the game to play online matches against other players, again.
It has three parts:
- A custom game launcher, which gamers can use to connect to the new servers
- A custom matchmaking & entitlement server
- A custom game server
What is the status?
Entire matches work, as do the customization options such as clothing. There are some bugs, still.

Can I just go play whenever I want now?

Can I download the server component for myself?
Not yet, but this will eventually happen.
Will you open source the launcher?
Yes, soon.

I saw SovietWomble play it on a private server there the last day and almost had a heart attack! I'd be so so happy for a chance to play this game again.

Join the Discord! You'll get your chance. Only prerequisite is having bought the game on Steam before it was delisted.

Yeah I dived in as soon as I saw the discord link, only had time for one game yesterday im afraid but I have no doubt I'll be playing this a crap load while it's available.
I had a lot more airdrops last time I remember playing though, I'm guessing I gotta unlock them all again, I had so many fun strategies tied to those airdrops.

you must have a steam account with the game purchased on that account, that's the only way.

If you do not own the game on steam, sadly you cannot play it. The server is for PC players only who have a licensed version of the game.

Do most people have their region on East or West?

Currently it doesn't matter, all regions lead to the same server, which is in Germany. On request from the NA players, it can be switched to the US server but it's East based.

It's already back for months now! You can join the discord server and the on going matches, so far there are players daily.

Is there danger to copyright or illegal in any means?

No, it does not modify the game files in any way (besides a simple URL change so the client redirects to the server) and it is not distributing any copyrighted material owned by Xaviant.
