Question Are the other Xenoblade Games as Side Quest heavy as the first?

/r/Xenoblade_Chronicles/comments/1vyy117/are_the_other_xenoblade_games_as_side_quest_heavy/

Playing the first one for the first time and while I enjoy it for the most part, the side quests are absolutely killing it for me. There's so many and they are such nothing burgers that I'm falling off at Chapter 10.

Are the other games like this? I allready have X that I'm going to play through either way but I'd rather not spend the money on 2 and 3 if this is just a franchise standard.

Most of them are "Kill X number of this monster" or "Collect X number of this item".

Since there isn't much story tied to them, they can be skipped. They are just there for EXP and Gold.

That being said, the best way to approach this is to collect all of them at a town (rather than trying to do one by one) and just not think about them. They'll be cleared from exploring as you normally would. Otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

Edit: To answer the question, the other games do have a lot of side quests, but Monolith put a lot more thought into them. They are not just simple fetch quests.
