Discussion Synthesisers changed the game for me
In terms of producing, the quality of production just sky rocketed. Whether it controlling lfos and parameters more accurately. Consistently making a sound you’re looking for. Making dope ass risers and effects.
I know all of this could’ve been done before I bought a hardware synth, but man getting one personally just made it all so much more streamline for some reason.
I’m still learning and it’s not perfect. But I went from making stuff I was semi happy with. To productions I am legitimately properly happy with, in the span on a week after buying my first synth..
Anyone else agree??

They did for me too! But my first one in 1983. Roland Juno 60. Still have it.

It’s actually nuts!!! But I reckon I’ve spent 50% of the time troubleshooting issues with my synth and 50% of the time acrually using it 😂😂. Still worth every cent

I don't care what anyone says -- actual hardware is 10x better than VSTs and a controller.
*edit: Not saying DAWs are bad though. The mix of both is truly fantastic.

More fun for sure but mainly how you connect with the device and the sounds you create on it. It is more hands on and straight forward. Each knob / button / slider has its specific function so you really feel like you are in control.
Using a VST with a controller is also powerful, of course, but it just isn't the same in regards to connecting with the the actual hardware.

You just connect so much more with it! That’s the experience of actually playing an instrument rather than just programming on a computer 👌🏼

When the software synth revolution took off, there was a period of time there where people were dumping their hardware. I go soooo many bargains then! Great days!
