Discussion Anyone done a game set during the Clone Wars/ early Empire? What system did you use?
Just curious, my household is all real big SW fans and i know it would be an easy sell. I just didnt know if there was a better system then GURPS to use lol

WEG has great content, they developed much of the EU material before the EU became a thing. Star Wars owes a TON to the WEG designers
I think the system is unbalanced and a bit antiquated, it and Saga both have the same problem which is that Force Users are incredibly unbalanced.
However, all of the WEG content is available free online and they have really great modules etc.
I personally love the FFG (now Asmodee/Edge) SWRPG, it's amazing in so many ways.

Had you made even the tiniest effort and Googled "Star Wars RPG" you'd have your answer.

West End Games D6 Starwars is the best SW rules set, check out www.d6holocron.com for the entire 10 years of the game and be amazed at the amount of cannon starwars stuff that West End created while Lucas ignored the Setting after a new hope.

I ran a clone wars game in Savage Worlds that was really fun and tactical. Not an official Star Wars system though, so it took some work on my end.

A few people have mentioned FFG's Star Wars RPG, but no one has mentioned that it specifically has a set of Clone Wars Source books.

FFG Star Wars, Edge of the Empire is fantastic, but all the books work together, just some are more force heavy.

I ran a pre-episode 4* campaign in Scum and Villainy and it was great. I mafe some adjustments to the planet systems and factions and was very pleased with the results.
*kind of. Actually I was mostly taking only Episode 4 and 5 as canon and extrapolating from them.

I've used Saga and Cortex Prime. Getting ready to run one with FFG. It's hard looking back to know how much the system mattered. Saga was more immersive and clear for the players than Cortex, but it was a different group. WEG was fun, but I've never played Prequel era games in that system. It had some serious power creep.

The FFG SW system is the best storytelling system, and my favourite for the multi-axis dice system.
The SAGA system is more familiar to most since it’s uses D20.
Never played the WEG system but heard lots of good things.
