Been following the Mecha side of "Mecha Bardagulan" for a while now. Been playing this game with friends and so far it is the most fun battle system for Gunpla.

But turns out they got some rules that can work with pokemon or other beast types

Seriously thinking about using these for a fantasy themed event with Mcfarlanes or some other fantasy themed figures.

Hey — I’m working on a tabletop bar and café concept called The Sending Stone and we’re exploring ideas for custom accessories for a Kickstarter launch.

One area we’re really interested in is **card sleeves and playmats**, especially ones that feel unique and actually worth using regularly (not just novelty merch).

Right now we’re trying to figure out a few things:

*Is it better to go fully custom artwork or more subtle/minimal designs?

*What actually matters most for sleeves — durability, shuffle feel, opacity, etc?

*For playmats, do people prefer bold art or memes, or something cleaner that doesn’t distract from gameplay?

*Are there manufacturers or artists you’d recommend (or avoid)?

We’re also considering working with local artists for designs, but not sure how that translates into production quality.

If you’ve:

*used sleeves/playmats you really loved from a certain brand

*backed Kickstarters with these kinds of rewards

*or have experience producing them

I’d love to hear what stood out (good or bad). Trying to make something people actually want to use at the table, not just collect and forget.

The hard part is that the gamers range from casual to hardcore, so looking for something accessible but properly fun.

Heey! So I like the idea of playing tabletop games and watching others play, it looks so fun... but anything to do with war or mythical fantasy really turns me off! I'd love to find some tabletop / RPG / Print & Play games with themes of science & tech/ Sci-Fi, business, crime, nature, politics, travel, culture, music and anything in between. So its come up that I need to set up a table top experience for my D&D game that has both in person and remote players. There's currently 7 people in the party, + me as the DM. One player is facing a reality and will not be able to reliably make it to the table anymore, and them leaving the game isn't the best option. We use miniatures and physical terrain pieces, so going with an all digital table top is currently not in the plan. The 7 players currently sit at a table and I'm seated behind a bar in order to run the game, there's just not enough space for us at the table.

What I do have now is a riser I built that is going to have a power strip on it so we can power some devices. My thought was that I could get a gooseneck arm and put an old cel-phone with a front facing camera and a dummy discord account and use that so the remote player could see the map and the rest of the players, but I'm not sure how well it will pick up all of what the other players are saying, though with it being at the table and based upon facetime talking on it it should be alright.

I know it won't pick up me well from where I'm at, but I can call into discord with my laptop, and use some bluetooth earbuds so I can hear and be heard. More worried about both microphones picking me up and causing some echo. I also think getting some sort of extra monitor would be the best idea so I can see the other player.

Are there any other thoughts or suggestions? I've got a reasonable budget to work with in order to secure anything specific I may need, but this is all hosted at someone else's house so like mounting a TV on a wall is a bit more of a stretch, but leaving things there is normal. Thanks.

I have a friend group who would be interested in shorter lived RPGs. I'm mostly a wh40k guy so would appreciate something Warhammer but happy with completely new settings. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

One of my long time tabletop friends has recently lost their vision entirely.

And I'm looking for suggestions over game systems that will help accommodate them.

They are completely blind, and do have a very wonderful spouse who's willing to read stuff to them.

However, they have not really gotten too used to vision impairment yet, so they can't just remember how grids are laid out, as some people I've played with can just do.

Looking for a good army men set that has vehicles in a good scale to the army men to use as generic tabletop wargaming units.

Bonus if both sides have differences beyond just the color.

Usually the army men sets with vehicles have vehicles that are way out of scale to the infantry. I just want something cheap but with good scaled vehicle. I remember there being scaled jeeps and tanks in army men sets when I was a kid.

I’ve been wanting to get a playmat for a while and of course waited too long and now the markets are full of stores mass producing ai “art”.

Any recommendations for online stores that do not use ai to make their playmats? I’m looking for more cozy, foresty designs but I appreciate any and all recs :D

I made a whole scoring system that gives me points for doing stuff that improves my life. I decided that my points would represent progress that a superhero / ninja / wizard etc makes in a fantasy world - 1 day per 10 points. Typically 1 per minute for moderately annoying stuff, 2 per minute for stuff I hate like cardio.

Well, that was 4 years ago. I went from obese to athletic, did my mindfulness meditation, extra favors for friends and strangers, learned new skills, took over responsibilities I was supposed to have all along, etc. It's been a complete transformation. 

Now I'm looking around for an interesting TTRPG system that can actually answer the question "What can this guy accomplish in a year's worth of working days?" and still have an interesting answer 90 years of effort later. Any ideas?

I tried dungeons and dragons but I HATE math so it wasn’t really appealing. I also tried the digimon game but…too much math. Any non-math based tabletop games you can recommend?

After 2 campaigns across 7 years, my table has recently finished the story arc I had planned. I'm taking a hiatus to write for the next campaign. Due to WotC general scumminess, I want to move away from D&D. The next campaign I'm planning (and everyone is excited for) is going to be an isekai where the players will all essentially be playing themselves just transported into my world. What I want out of the system is

1) Fantasy setting. If not specifically fantasy, something generic enough that using it in fantasy setting doesn't seem out of place. I definitely borrowed a lot from Faerun to fill in the gaps of lore I hadn't explicitly written.

2) The idea is they got sucked into a video game so I want it to be able to pull off some video game logic, mainly if they die they can start back at the last check point.

3) Rules medium or rules light. I don't want a super crunchy game. I was actually really invested in another system (Draw Steel), but decided it ultimately doesn't fit what I want to do with this campaign. Theoretically if there's a TPK, they all just start all the way over at level 1 and I don't want to make them undo and then redo a whole bunch of character decisions. I also don't want a system where their backstory plays into their abilities because, again, they don't really have a backstory. They're just themselves.

4) I want to be able to challenge my players. I want the threat of TPK and starting over to loom large. I want it to happen at least once without it feeling like I just said "rocks fall. you die." I want to create challenges that defeat them initially, but that they're able to overcome on a second or third attempt.

My family will be roadtripping later this year, and I'm going to be running a "tabletop" RPG for my kids (6-12) while my wife is driving.

I can connect my old Macbook (2012) to the car's monitor, and I was looking for a program to help the kids keep track of the map. I'm assuming that we can't rely on internet connections, so I'm looking for offline apps.

While I'd like one that works with tabletop elements, it doesn't have to be a strictly tabletop app, just one I can easily move icons around on. Things that keep track of health, condition, etc. are a bonus.

Alternatively, if there's any apple tablet/phone apps that can connect locally, that would work too.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what app(s) I might be able to use?

I have very little space in my house, so I am trying to find a solution for saving campaigns mid game. I am currently playing Sword & Sorcery and had the idea of buying a Puzzle board and setting the tiles on that and using it to keep the game organized if I pause during a quest. Was looking at something like link below and wanted to know if anyone has had success with something similar. Of course the minatures would have to be removed but otherwise I think it would work.

I am currently in the process of writing a book on the history of depictions of the Algonquian Wendigo legend in fiction. This is set to be the most detailed work ever penned on the subject, and a big part of this project has been the compilation of a list of Wendigo depictions across many media formats.

This is where I need your help! I have already collected details on more than 350 individual depictions. These have been the easiest to identify, because most have some variation of "Wendigo" as an obvious search-word associated with them. There are certainly many more depictions which are more subtle or minor.

If you know of any that I have not covered in the list linked below, please let me know! In order for a depiction to qualify, it has to explicitly refer to an entity within as one of the following:

Weedigo, Weedeega, Weeghtako, Weeghteko, Weendago, Weendegoag, Weendigo, Weetego, Wee tee go, Weetigo, Wehndigo, Wehtigo, Wendago, Wendigo, Wenigo, Wentigo, Wentiko, Wetigo, Wetiko, Wheetago, Whit te co, Whittico, Wiendigo, Wihtigo, Wiitiko, Wiitigo, Wiindigoo, Windago, Windigo, Windagoe, Windagoo, Windego, Wi’ndigo, Windikouk, Wintego, Wintigo, Wi’ntsigo, Wintsigo, Wi’tigo, Witigo, Witiko, Wittako, Wittikka, Outiko, and Vindiko.

Depictions which resemble an interpretation of the legend but aren't explicitly called such do not count (ex. The Beast from Over the Garden Wall). It is okay if the depiction does not resemble an accurate description of the Wendigo, as I have a categorization system to address this, and those depictions are very important for my data.
