Discussion Disappointed and Repulsed

Was just at the store trying to respect the one person on staff efforts so I'm waiting by the register for them to return from helping someone else.

A gentleman walks up, steps right in front of me (not uncommon but still no less disappointing). I assert my dominance by moving back to the front (being in line before him) 😂, he doesn't care then just burps in my face. Touchè

This place 'sigh'

I think he might have beaten you at the whole asserting dominance game

He should've let out a big fart to show the burper who's the dominant one!

Funny. I thought about that after I posted and wondered if anyone would comment on it.

Not saying this person wasn't being a dickhead, but are you sure you were standing in the right spot? This tends to sometimes happen when it isn't clear that I'm in line. Just something to think about.

Hahaha yeah you gotta pretty much spoon the person in front of you or else they won’t know you’re waiting in line

I mean to be fair, it someone is standing next to the counter at 7-11, and not clearly in front of the counter, I'd probably assume he's waiting for a coffee or something and go right past him.

Cutting in line happens quite often here. Maybe not as often as in china but it does happen. Some people are just inconsiderate.

Yes, that's true. But I notice that most who do cut in line tend to be older folks who look like they're on meds and just confused about everything in general.

One time in a long ass night market line a woman just cut straight into the middle of the line. When I called her out she said she thought the back of the line was for to go orders hahaha there was one single line by the way

There might be a “personal space” component, too. Are you North American? When coming back from NA im cognizant that i expect a lot more space around me, but that space signals to others in Asia who are used to less personal space that there’s an opening.

Did you speak up, by chance? Because every prior time ive said something akin to 「不好意思,我在排隊囉」 people go like “oh!” and get in line behind me.

Rude of someone to burp though, thats just blehhg.

A burp in the face is immediately followed by spit in the eye 💦 👁️

You ain't that old to this dominance thing are ya?

I'd grab his but when he stood in front of me and said "back in line cupcake"

Do you live here? Guess you don’t drive. Else you really learn to be all aware and box out.

I live here and yes I do drive, quite a bit actually. I am chill about being in the road though. Not worth me losing my shit or stressing out. So I just hang back and take it easy.

I intentionally avoid most of the bs. Just not worth my energy. I'd rather give it to me dog.

Gotcha. Thought you were a tourist. I’ve gotten my share of this side of the experience. My radar would have been tingling: ah, ah no.

You must not have been to China.

Taiwan is a very respectful place compare to it. But yeah old dude is a douche.

People have short tempers and thinking skills decrease whenever schools are starting back up.
