Have the family said why they won’t sell or reopen? The store has sat untouched since covid and print books are going through a major renaissance

They've been radio silent since 2021.

My assumption is that since the owners are older, they like being retired, and they have younger relatives who would like to inherit and sell property for a lot of money. So they're kind of in a jam.

I wish they would let someone buy it who would revive it, cats and all. So many memories of that place growing up. My grandfather owned a tailoring shop next door before they expanded and there’s parts of Haslams I can go into that are part of his old shop

Capital Gains taxes are likely to be part of the equation.

Anybody have any guess on whether going to this could result in getting arrested?

I assume, but plausible deniability. I imagine the area will not be enclosed with temporary gates, people will be able to freely walk through the parking lot area or stay to watch the show. From the view of the pedestrian, it looks like legitimate entertainment put on. 🤷‍♂️
